I'm using the Buildr Template based on the quickstart package and Buildr - Background theme. Every time I select a mobile menu type, the menu for Desktop View also takes on those properties.
How can I make my main menu display as a normal menu on desktop, and then change to mobile?

Can you add your admin and ftp details in edit fields in in order for us to take closer look.
For reference, You can follow thread post (5 point) procedure.
As aman said can you add access details for the admin it sounds like a configuration problem with the module being hidden or possibly a device screen width

On the layout tab I can see Mobile menu type option set to "No change", changed to "Offcanvas" now I can't see the issue. Could you please check again now?

looks ok to me - you might want to check the slideshow as currently it isn't full width on wider screens
