How to use JA Popup Plugin in a link in JA Builder block

Can I use the JA Popup plugin as a link in a button in JA Builder content blocks? If so, how? I've looked at the plugin documentation and tried many variations. I can get it to work in a text link but I want to use it in a plugin.
