Enabling the language switcher for 2 languages

Hi there, I am trying to get the language switcher to work on my site. Basically I have the 2 plugins enabled and also I have the module created and assigned to the language switcher postion in the top right of the site. However it is not showing the english and irish languages that I have installed. I am just wondering if I have missed a step here or can someone advise? Thanks in advance.

Hi,

You can check steps by steps from this guide: https://docs.joomla.org/J3.x:Setup_a_Multilingual_Site for how to setup a multilingual site.

Basically, you will need to create content / module / menu item for both languages. I just tried log into backend of your site but there is only 1 menu. You should have 1 default menu, 1 default menu for each language also. Like this: http://prntscr.com/j16on8

@saguaros thanks for the tutorial here. So I have followed the tutorial here for my Irish and UK language and I got the switcher to show now as you can see here: https://www.teamstory.co/en/

My only issue is that I cannot get the Irish and Uk main menus to show you you select them. I only have 1 menu item in each of these menus yet the main menu is still the original joomla one and it shows alot of menu items as you can see here: http://recordit.co/DAVd75a1Vl

the mainmenu joomla module is actually unpublished so im not sure how it is even showing right now. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Hi jamjodesign

I created new template styles 1 for English Menu and 1 for Irish menu

and assigned as default templates for respective languages

Now 2 different mainmenus are correctly switching when language flag is clicked.
