How to have only one video on a page

I've added the login credentials in the "Edit fields"

As you'll notice in the homepage, the large intro-video is followed by multiple smaller videos below. I've tried editing the menu-item (video-list) via Blog Layout countless ways with no luck in removing those videos below (at least 1 extra always keeps showing up). I'd like to have only one video, the large-intro video.

saguaros, I've upload a screenshot.

Simply put, I'd like the "brick" module to immediately follow the one large video (w/out all the other videos in between). Normally, I'd edit the menu-item Blog Layout, but even when I put 1 or 0, an extra video still shows up between the large video and the brick module.

You will need to customize it a bit, here is my tweak:
1) Go to file: [root]/templates/ja_focus/html/com_content/category/videos.php
2) Find and remove this snippet of code (approx line 124):

Thanks, you have indeed provided the solution to have one video on a page, but now every "Video List" menu-item shows only one video, no matter how many are listed in the settings.

1) Is there a way to have your custom-code-edit work only for the homepage?

2) Alternatively (even better solution), is there a way to edit the code so that the "Video List" menu-item shows exactly how many articles/videos are listed in the "# Intro Articles" settings (instead of automatically showing one as before, even though "0" is desired)

3) Lastly, your later instructions on changing the follow-up modules to the "navhelper" position removes their title, unfortunately. Is there an alternative solution or a code-edit that allows module titles to show up on "navhelper" position?

Sorry for this lateness. My above suggestion helps to tweak the video list category layout so it will affect all pages which use the same layout.

To achieve what you're mentioning, it's better if you create a new layout for it--with the same way of video list category layout. However, this task will take time and need heavy customization in both code and styling. I suggest you to hire a developer to get it done for you.

Hi saguaros, I'm rather disappointed with your response.

1) Why isn't the video-list menu-item acting like it should? Meaning, when one edits the "Blog Layout" shouldn't the template recognize the fields "# Intro Articles"? The fact that it doesn't suggests this is a failure/flaw by the template designer, as most Joomla templates would recognize that (very important) field and I wouldn't have to be here asking for support.

2) As for the the navhelper-position, considering it's the only suggested solution for another common-sense issue, isn't there (at least) a way to force modules in that position to showcase their title? (instead of hiring someone to redesign the whole template layout). Having an intro-video followed by content is actually very common web-design, so I'm surprised this template and offered-solutions are so inflexible.

If you tend to show only one video on homepage, I suggest you use another module to show video on homepage only rather than customizing the video list layout. It'll be simple and easier. The idea of that Video List page is that we want to show list of videos with infinity scroll feature, including options for number of intro or leading videos will be more complicated.

It due to the module style only, you can go to backend settings of that module > Advanced tab > Module Style > and change to T3Xhtml style: http://prntscr.com/kxz6ls It will show module title then.

Hi,

For video module, you can create a custom HTML module and embed the video you want to use there, you can make a quick search for how to embed video to a module in Joomla and assign to the position you want. Or you can seek for a 3rd party extension which supports to display video.

For the module position, you can see available positions in this template in Backend > Extensions > Templates > Ja Focus template style > Layout tab: http://prntscr.com/kz73nb

This template is built with T3 framwork so I send you its documentation for how to work with layout of template built with T3. Basically:
1) There will be several layouts built-in each template, the equivalent layout files locate in: root/templates/ja_focus/tpls/
2) Each layout will load different blocks: header, mainbody, footer, etc .... , the PHP files are in: root/templates/ja_focus/tpls/blocks/
3) Each block will load different module position

If you don't want to use built-in module position in JA Focus (as you can see in layout tab), you can create a new position, load it via a block and add to the layout you want. For the module title in navhelper position, kindly check my above reply:

If you don't want to use the current positions in this template, you can create new position and add into existing layout and assign module you want to that new position.

1) It does not answer how to create a video-module.
2) It also doesn't answer any subsequent questions regarding video-module position (without having to redesign the layout), or the navhelper/module-title issue. Instead, you provide a ridiculously long article practically suggesting I should become an expert in T3 Framework Layouts. I'm sorry, that's not at all helpful, at least not at this moment when I have barely the time or interest in specializing in such specific expertise.

I suspect one can answer any forum question by providing ridiculously long articles, neither empathizing with your clientele's lack of super-detailed-technical-experience or their reasonable service-expectations via forum or other support options.

I'm frustrated because this ticket over a month old, with late and fragmented answers, some of which shows positive well-thought out suggestions, while others shows barely an effort to be helpful.

In conclusion, I'd really appreciate / anticipate some likely super simple solutions, including:
A. Clear instructions or short/reliable link/article on how to create a video module for this template
B. A module-position for the video-module (without having to redesign the template)
C. If still necessary, an easy way to force the navhelper position to show module-titles.

Additionally:
3) The embed code I used is exactly the same as the current one used by the article via the menu-video-list. Even so, following instructions found online, nothing appears after I click "OK" What am I doing wrong?

4) Regarding positions, I feel you could have easily said "use the main-content-mastbot-1 position" (as its a bit confusing because on the layout framework that position is both before-and-after the main-content area). Oddly enough, this may very well resolve the need to put the following modules on the navhelper position, thereby nullifying the second part of this thread.

So...I guess (hopefully) I just need help to create/finish the video-module.
