JA Twitter extension using wrong API ?

Hi JA team,

I have just installed JA Twitter on my website to replace the way-too-long twitter widget.

After installing I received that message about API v1.1 instead of v1

When I clicked on the link Check how to get OAuth information now (http://www.joomlart.com/forums/showthread.php?50154-Joomla-1.6-JA-Twitter-Module-Installation-Guide), I end up on a 404 page.

Is there a problem with the API you use in the JA Twitter extension? Are you using the old Twitter API?
Are you planning to update this extension so there's no more message like this one when we install it?

fairyjo Hi. Module was last updated 20 Oct 2017, so log before the change in twitter API was introduced. But indeed we forgot to update the link after moving our forums. Please try looking at this page for information about twitter API authentication: https://developer.twitter.com/en/docs/basics/authentication/guides/access-tokens.html

Ok, I did everything, the developer account, etc... Now I still don't like the module very much and decided to keep the custom module with Twitter's own code.

Are you going to update the extension? It would be nice to have more options in it, like showing the image instead of the link, decide for a header above the timeline with the twitter handle's bio...

Any way for me to suggest improvements? Are you using GitHub?

Are you going to leave the extension as is or are you going to update it to include the change in Twitter's API?

Sorry for this lateness. Yes, if there are changes from Twitter's API, we will update it.

The API changed, but @teibite said the extension was not updated since. So I'm wondering if you'll update it soon so I can use it properly.

saguaros Actually I did, and it worked. But I don't like the extension much so I was hoping it would be updated soon by you. So I can try the new version, which would include the API update that Twitter made before the summer.

Anyway, you can mark this as solved now.
