1.7 quickstart – can’t modify template ??

    I’ve installed the j1.7 quickstart apparently ok, but when I try and change the template I get a page containing :-

    500 – An error has occurred.
    Layout edit_assignment not found

    Return to Control Panel

    any ideas appreciated,

    in fact having tried to do other work on the site I find trying to edit an article just gives me a blank page ?!

    Unfortunately something has gone awry with your install. If this is a fresh site please empty your database, download a fresh copy of the quickstart and try again. Make sure you do not use your hosts ftp in their cpanel as this is often a cause of corruption. Please use a propper ftp app such as filezilla.

    If you run into troubles I will take another look.

    thanks, i’ll clear it out and reload – I always use filezilla as you suggested
