November 14, 2013 at 7:05 pm #192283No matter what I do, I have not been able to do ‘edit’ a Responsive template thus far. I have been able to install them, they show up fine in the list. just can’t edit them. I have installed the latest J3 and JAT3 plugins and blank templates too. But I do not seem to be making any headway. I want to implement responsive templates but I am unable to and it is REALLY frustrating.
Can someone please help me clarify what should I do before I can do anything with responsive. I’m guessing there was a train of information and I seem to have missed the train.

November 15, 2013 at 8:50 am #512332Hi Venkat,
I have checked out the template manager and found that you installed the templates running on both our different system plugins (JAT3v2 and new T3v3).
These system plugins have the big difference on template layout control, integrated feature (Boostrap, Less …) that can cause the conflicts when enabling these plugins at the same time. That is why you couldn’t edit or change the settings of that responsive templates.
The solution that we always suggest JA members in this case is keeping to use the default template with its system plugin (i.e JA Nex and JAT3v2) and disabling the rest ones. Or reversed.

November 19, 2013 at 6:30 pm #512759I want to set up my ja_magz site BEFORE killing my ja_nex template – so I can not do that? Right now, I see that I can not edit my responsive template UNLESS I disable the JAT3 template which kills my current production site that is running on ja_nex non-responsive.
I guess I am not very clear about the conflict between T3 and JAT3. Is there a document that I can look at?

November 19, 2013 at 7:00 pm #512761Oh ok – researched this a little bit. This is what I understand so far. There are two different JA_Nex templates. One is JA_Nex-T3 and another is JA_Nex-JAT3.
I think I have installed the second one and hence is causing my current problems. My choices:
1. Develop a completely new webiste subdirectory – that will have ONLY T3 and then I can install a responsive template and make that live when I am ready. This is hell because I have to migrate my content again.
2. Possible to overwrite the JA_Nex-JAT3 template with JA_Nex-T3 template at all? This might save me a lot of trouble. What say you, experts?

November 19, 2013 at 8:33 pm #512769BUMP – Quick question – can I just install the T3 template for JA_Nex and update the existing JAT3-JA_Nex template? Please confirm/clarify as soon as possible.

November 20, 2013 at 3:21 am #512789Hi kcdesi,
1. Possible to overwrite the JA_Nex-JAT3 template with JA_Nex-T3 template at all? This might save me a lot of trouble.
2. can I just install the T3 template for JA_Nex and update the existing JAT3-JA_Nex template? Please confirm/clarify as soon as possible.I regret to say the answer is No. Our recent JA Nex T3 template is an independent installation package plus a big difference of template layout control between our T3 versions (T3v2 and T3v3) so that you will need to install the package as a new site. You can’t upgrade directly from current version to our new JA Nex T3.
I agree with your idea to install the JA Nex T3 package on a new site subdirectory. In addition, we tried to keep the same design concept layout on both JA Nex JAT3 and JA Nex T3, so that I will be quite easy for you to move the modification from old site to new JA Nex T3 site.
However, I’d like to suggest you to refer our T3v3 documentation to understand how to work and customize our T3 templates.
Regards,
