Hi,
1. I need to know how to change the link that re-directs to the J 1.7 version of the template:<a title=”Switch to Joomla 1.7″ href=”http://joomla17-templates.joomlart.com/thebooktree/”>Switch to Joomla 1.7</a>
I need to change it to go to this clients Facebook page, but I can’t find where to change the link. I checked the plugin but there’s nothing there either. And, on my client’s own words:
2. “One thing that really, really bothers me is when you click on a book for more information. The page comes up, but it automatically scrolls up to the top of the page every time rather than staying in place so you are not forced to scroll and search for what you wanted to see, somewhere down below. This feature is very annoying, especially if you are a serious shopper and will be looking at different books continuously.”
You can see the website in development here: http://sandiego-webmaster.com/thebooktree/
Any help solving these problem will be greatly appreciated.

Are you familiar with the free utility called “GREP”? http://www.wingrep.com/
It can comb through all your files and locate the link to swap out.Just curious, was it included in your QUICKSTART?

That way the books will always land at the top.
Great looking site, by the way.
Have fun!

I checked the module position and is set to appear only on the home page. Is there anywhere else I should check?John Wesley Brett ModeratorJohn Wesley Brett

November 22, 2011 at 10:52 pm #425994Oh, I see now…
For correct functionality of modules appearing on VirtueMart pages you must create a menu link to the VirtueMart component. Without this Joomla has no idea that VirtueMart is being used and can’t, for example, change template or assign specific modules on VirtueMart pages.
If you don’t want an actual menu link, just create a new menu and publish a link to the VirtueMart component. This will create a new Joomla menu module. Don’t publish this module! The link has been published but the menu is not displayed.
It’s the same way you get around having the slideshow show up when rendering search results.
REMEMBER – Joomla assigns modules to components, not to component pages.
BOTTOM LINE: If you assign a module to VirtueMart it will display on all VirtueMart Pages.
This is the same for all Joomla components that have multiple pages.Let me know if you need further.
John.November 22, 2011 at 11:03 pm #425995Hi John,
RE: “you must create a menu link to the VirtueMart component.”
I am afraid I am a little confused, I do have the menu linked to VirtueMart…
Now, there’s two “Home” menus right now, (due to a migration glitch, I believe). The first “Home” menu in the main menu items is not active, and the second one, it’s a Virtuemart “Menu Item Type”. Is this what you mean? -
