Hi i have a few problems,
one is user permission and to hide the edit buttons on articles if the user is not a admin (it works great for public)?
on the bottom of the page is where i have the main content, also i would like it so when you click a article it does not show up
on the same page as it messes my home template up a bit.

i have highlighted by problems on the attached pic.

also my video page shows the edit, delete buttons to as a normal user.

    thanks

    Hi,

If the user you provided has editing privileges then this is the reason that you can see the article tools (edit etc) in the frontend.

You can edit the users group and provide them only with editing privileges to their own articles.
you can find that in the Users groups in Joomla admin panel.

    Hello,

I have edited the “Registered Uses” group to have the ability to post new articles, you had this group as super admin also which is a serious security issue.
Now you have to give similar access to CB users if you give them the post a new article link through CB or you need to add a link to your users so they can submit a new article via Joomla.

I hope that my solution helped you.

Note:Also an other issue you must deal with is the upgrade from the joomla version your website is built to the latest one mainly for security issues again.

    Hi,

I don’t know about CB i guess you should ask in CB Forums for this, but as for Joomla you should check that Registered Users have only rights to edit their own articles (since you want registered users to add articles).
In other ways you should make them “Authors”, that way they will have permissions to edit their own articles, if they have more than that (that’s the way your setup was before ) then they will be able to edit every article and that’s why you can see the article icons on every article.

    Regards

Yes you have to edit the users preference to do that!
