I’m sure this is a very basic set of questions, but I’m going to ask anyway…
1. Is it possible to completely remove the two user tools? I’ve picked the Cyan color and want the site to stay that way because that’s the color my logo looks right with.
2. I’d like to edit the top image with my logo. I’ve downloaded the source files but I’m not sure what to do next. Along those same lines, is it possible to change the color of the background of the menus? They’re currently a dark brown but I’d like to possibly change them to another shade of blue.
I appreciate the help very much!

November 7, 2008 at 2:37 pm #2784461. yes you can remove the user tools, you will find that in the user guide located here:
http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/ja-larix-userguide-2/November 7, 2008 at 10:03 pm #278495I looked through the guide before I asked my questions but wasn’t able to find the answers. I just looked again and still wasn’t able to find a section or subsection about removing the user tools or changing the colors and top banner. Can you give me a hint about the section I might find it in?
Thanks.

November 7, 2008 at 10:09 pm #278497For your other question im not sure of wich part of the menu you want a different background, could you specity further?
About the logo, do you want to use the psd files to create a simlar looking logo with your own text or do you want to swap it with a logo you made your own?
November 7, 2008 at 11:36 pm #278501Thanks. That was obvious and I missed it.
November 7, 2008 at 11:40 pm #278502For the logo, I think I’d like to edit the current logo and put mine in.
For the background, I might like to change the color behind the menus (all of them) that are currently brown (behind L and A modules) to something that might match more.
Thanks for the help on the user tools removal.
November 7, 2008 at 11:45 pm #278503I may have partially answered my own question. I see the psd files in the Source files download but after editing them where do I put them in Joomla? I looked for the files in Media Manager but didn’t see them.

Under your template you can replace this logo:
/images/cyan/logo.gif

For the top menu you will have to change
Image for the top menu:
/images/mainnav-bg.gifimage for the left menu:
/images/a-mainlevel-hover.gifNovember 8, 2008 at 12:22 am #278509I’m feeling pretty stupid right now. Do you mean under the template area under Extensions / Template Manager or in the actual folder that I unzipped? I looked in the images folder there and didn’t see a logo.gif.
Sorry…..
November 8, 2008 at 12:26 am #278510But where do I find those images?

November 8, 2008 at 12:31 am #278512no need to be sorry 🙂 glad i can help…..and we all got to start somewhere right?
If you connect with ftp to your host you will find the folder structure of your joomla installation (administrator, cache, components, images etc)
You will find the logo you need to replace here:
templatesja_lariximagescyanlogo.gifNovember 8, 2008 at 12:41 am #278513Ahhhhh, there they are. I’m working on a local install and I forgot. Perfect. Is there somewhere the files are mapped so I know which file goes where? Is that in the manual somewhere? Thanks again for the help. You answered both my questions.
Appreciated.
