Hi I have just had the site reinstalled with the demo template of JA Teline IV installed. All was looking good.
I changed the logo to my own, then I wanted the index.php gone so I renamed the htaccess.txt file to .htaccess.

Now the site has a 5 second delay before it loads. I tried to rename the htaccess file back and now I really am not sure what htaccess files I should have at all.

There is one named .htaccess, one named .htaccess_ and one named htaccess.txt.

    Please help! Thanks in advance

If you are confused about the correct htaccess file, best is to restore the same from default joomla package.

You can delete or remove them all from your site root and take the htaccess.txt from default joomla package, move it to your site root and rename to .htaccess

Hi, so you mean to delete all the htaccess files from the joomla install and just upload a fresh one from the install. Also is this the likely problem that is causing the delay as I wouldn’t want to mess around with it if this isn’t the problem.

    Thanks
