Trying to get Authorize.net configured and having a few issues with the plugin. For starters the Sandbox mode in the plugin does not work. I dont know if it is because there is a test mode that you can setup in Autorize.net but with it enabled everything fails.

I have double checked that the API, transaction key and secret word are all correct but the payment fails with a 502 error when the user is sent back to the site. Here is the page that they are greeted with after making their payment on Authorize.net.

    http://www.stem-staffing.com/index.php?option=com_jajobboard&view=japayment&task=payment_return&payment_method=authorize

Looking in the Authorize.net transactions it shows the payment as an unsettled transaction. In the Job Board transactions area it shows the payment as Uncompleted.

So with these errors is it possible that there may be some new settings in Authorize.net that is causing the problem? I ask because of the sandbox parameter and not needing it. Maybe there is something new that is amiss? I did take a look around in the Authorize.net control panel and I saw a password-required mode that is enabled by default. I wonder if that is something that may be causing the error?

We are just setting this up so there is nothing in the Authorize.net account and I can give you the login if you would care to take a look in there and see if anything there can help solve this problem?

Something else I noticed that may give an idea of what is happening is on these transactions under the Receipt ID all it says is N/a.

    Dear Earthrat,

When i tried to pay via via authorized gateway at sandbox mode, the transaction is made uccessfully without any issue.

You could see this screenshots http://prntscr.com/1eyofc and http://prntscr.com/1eyod8 for more details.

Please check again the Authorize params setting in Jobboard component and your account in authorize.net.

Thanks Her0, we got it working but when you click the return to the site from Authorize.net after payment was made it sends them to that 502 error page. Looking on the Authorize.net admin there is a default Receipt link URL that it says to put in there in the event that a receipt link URL is not passed with the transaction. Is the plugin setup to pass this URL and if not what URL should I put in there so they are returned to the right page? Also if I have to manually add this URL does it use Link, GET or POST?

I am clueless about Authorize.net so forgive my ignorance. I see some pre-determined fields that have been setup for Virtual Terminal and I am wondering if this could be an issue?

    Dear Earthrat,

I have checked again and it works In the return method, it’s using POST method.

After paying, click on button “Return our home page”, it will redirect you to your site with success message http://prntscr.com/1fhedw .

If you are redirected to this link http://www.stem-staffing.com/index.php?option=com_jajobboard&view=japayment&task=payment_return&payment_method=authorize, it will come out the 502 error because there is no payment info .

I am not understanding why sandbox mode works but when you set it to live it fails to return the user to anything but the 502 error page?

As suggested I checked the Authorize params setting and they are (as far as I can tell) correct. What has me confused is I was under the impression that sandbox mode was there to work out any bugs and if none existed and the fake payment was made all was good. However all is not good and while it does take the payment it still fails leaving the person making the payment to assume it failed.

I am also confused who to ask for help? I assume because you are not replying that this is an Authorize issue but since support is so spotty here I don’t know how true that is?

I tried that and yes it did error out, I removed it and it still errors out. Also in regard to your claim that clicking the button “Click here to return to our home page” works, it may have worked for you in test mode but it does not work in live mode!! It returns a 502 error and says This payment Is Not Authorize. If you go into the account all it says is payment pending which does not mean the same thing as Not Authorized. Note also that in the Authorize admin it shows the payment was successful.

    Now what??

I am wondering if the fields that can be setup in Authorize.net have anything to do with why this is not working (Payment Form – Fields, found under the Payment Forms menu and in the Virtual Terminal Settings area)? There are some default fields that are pre-selected and a few of them do not reference anything that is being recorded on the site. Such as Customer ID and the names of some of the fields. Is there a possibility that this is somehow conflicting?

Please check “Secret Word” http://prntscr.com/1foixl. I’m not sure that it is correct.

You must make sure that the Sercet Word has been set up in your Authorize account
“This Hash value can be found in your Authorize.net account page >> Accounts menu >> Settings >> Md5 Hash (unser Security Settings section).”

That was it Her0, for whatever reason it is picky about what you use for the hash value. I had to change this three times before finding one that would work.

Now there is just one more issue that is bugging me about this. Authorize.net sets and auto charge of .10 to the account before it charges the actual fee. The problem is that in the email that the job board sends the customer it says “Your payment of 0.1 USD has been credited to your account”. The only place it can get this is from Authorize.net but it does not reflect the actual charge. Why is the job board asking Authorize.net what the price for the subscription should be anyway?

Sorry Earthrat, that is my mistake. I changed the price of the One Dollar package for my checking.

It goes back to 1$ now. 🙂
