Hello:

I’m for sure going to join as I’ve spent a few weeks now looking online for templates and spent many hours trying to tweak templates but without any support. I’ve narrowed down to 3 I like at JA and had some questions: (inline answers would be great!)

Can you get suckerfish menu on JA Hader and JA Altair?

Can you get a pathway under the menu on Altair (just like Hader)?

Can I easily add banner menus to the top area of Altair/Hader? I want 3 banners (or “user” modules) of various widths to compose the entire top area where the “Altair/Hader” logos are.

In general is it easy to move/customize the search box location? I would want the search up top in Hader OR on the menu level in Altair. I also want a clickable icon next to the search to initiate the search.

Bellatrix is great too. Can the menu be moved to be above where the pathway is, with the user modules and Bellatrix logo above the menu? This could be perfect for me.

I’m willing to go into template_css.css and index.php to hack, I’ve spent a bunch of time learning how to, but I need hand holding to make any changes (clear direction).

(BTW, Senacio is just perfect the way it is. I’ll be using that one as-is for another site)

NO they use transmenu

Yes but again means modifying stuff

Glad to hear you’ll be joining us

I’ve tried to answer what I can for you, If you accept that there will be some modifications necessary to achieve all the things you want then, I’d say yes it all is possible, how much recoding and time it will take who knows?

Be aware that the templates are bare that is they don’t have teh same content or module positions you see on the demos at JA.

You have to ad the right module positions etc to get them looking like that , I say that because a lot of newer Joomla ppl expect the template to magically look like the demo straight outta the box

I have signed up and posted a relatively straightforward request for assistance in the hader forum.

I would not be so sure ongoing. A more accurate response might be “you are welcome to post in our forum and you might get a response”.

I have received no assistance for my modification request and was hoping someone from the technical team could advise.

hmmm…I just posted a similar query today regarding how much help a club member would get from the technical team regarding customising a template…..seems like not very much….i guess I will think again whether to become a club member or not

Ken sometimes we miss the posts in the older forums, there is so much activity in the latest 3 releases, I apologize if you request was overlooked, I’m not a coder, so anything that approaches css knowledge I tend to stay clear of.

Also please understand to assist you on Hadar template I have to load that template up locally as a reference site then compare html css etc, the Hadar demo having content not available in the dl is not suitable for comparison. This takes time and I don’t have a lot of that myself, and many others would help but also say too hard basket. We do our best but we are unpaid volunteers and then there is timezone differences of up to 17 hrs to consider
