Well, looking at JA Quartz and now Cooper I wonder if we should ask if there is a new Teline coming out soon, with some of the new options, or if we’ve to make it ourselves, using what is available. Maybe JA can answer me… A nice looking updated white (or there about) template…Is there a Teline 3?

An upgrage is sure needed, as advance as Teline II is, there are so many features that are not the best presentation of archived materials. There are also quite a number of features in professional magazine-newspapers that are not possible with current Teline II.

    hello,

Yes i think that is really what we need. JA is coming with some amazing templates. But i feel that sometimes we do need very simple looking websites.

I agree. Some of the new templates are really amazing, but some websites need simplicity in design but with some fabulous features included. I wound up doing some major modifications to my Teline II template so that I could include a couple of things from Sanidine and Quartz in my layout because Teline II was EXACTLY the look I wanted, but the others had some features I needed…

    …hope I didn’t break any rules?…. :((

    Hey ja,

I will launch it here shortly. Our HTML site gets hundreds of viewers per day and I don’t want anyone to stumble on it until it actually replaces the site otherwise I would have it live now.

    I’ll post it here first…. 🙂

In the meantime, I am working on a little problem that came up in another forum. The Hot Topics (jacatslwi) module. Someone had written that it was pulling the last photo in an article instead of the first. I went and popped in a few extra photos in the first article and sure enough, no matter what you do, it pulls up the last photo in the article.

Any ideas how to fix this? I tend to put more than one photo in my articles and if I decide to keep this module, sure would like it to work.

I by more modules you mean extensions, I don’t know that more are needed, I think the ones that are available need to be more flexible. Some are too hard to configure for use outside the template they were designed for.

Thanks Menalto for pointing the JA Zinc template. I have not had a chance to visit Joomlart for quite awhile, let alone look at the new templates.

Indeed, many of the features of JA Zinc ought to be included in the next update of Teline and as a news-magazine.

In fact, if I were the head honcho of Joomlart, I would encourage all designers to transition all templates to adopt the “section-categories” — the unique feature of the Teline II — or even multiple levels of classification.

There are more of course, and when I get a chance I shall share some features I consider essential.

I’ve checked, because I had such a problem in an implementation of the module, and I can tell you it is working fine. What usually happens when you’ve more than one image in an article is that, because of something going out of control (space, position, I dunno…) and not being immediately seen, the first image vanishes and it’s the second that shows up. It is very usual to happen in Teline II at the FrontPage, when you’ve the rolling news option…

Sometimes when it happens I find that the easiest way is to clear the whole article and start anew (saving the text first…). it is quicker than struggling with some invisible gremlin on the white space of your layout.

As for this module, Iam trying it in Zinc and it works fine. My son did the article insert in Teline II and we had no problem there but when I moved the site to JA Zync (were still doing it now) the first pic on the module was gone. I checked the article, the spaces a.s.o and got it to work. So, in my case, the module is working fine. Check your images/text too..

    have fun

back to zero imsleepy. The module in question is really placing the second pic up… I managed to get it working with two, but when I edited the text again I got the second pic and did not manage to get the the first back on place. It’s strange because I did get it to work. Actually, Iam using in in JA Zinc, which Iam testing. And thar template does have some more problems that I’ll post (well look for answers) in the respective forum.

So, for the module acatslwi it ssems there is a problem with the image… And It does not matter what one does it keeps coming. But I did have it fixed so I’ll keep trying to understand what happenned then.

if I find it I’ll et back to you. And maybe the answer will be helpfull for more people, as the module, specually on the horizontal option, is great.
