    Hey guys,

Ok i am having a number of issues with my JA JB which i would like to get fixed as quickly as possible….

1 – several links within the employers menu, and jobseekers menu load blank pages when clicked… these links are –

Employers menu – Post a new job, Post a premium job and view Resumes.
Jobseekers menu – Job alert form.

Also, when logged in as a jobseeker, when going to my resumes, and then clicking Edit resume, this also loads a blank page. and while writing this discovered the “register as employer” and “register as jobseeker” links are doing the same thing.

I wonder if all of these issues are linked?

2 – I would also like to know if its possible to set up an “email latest jobs to jobseekers” which may automatically send job updates every X amount of days…….and a “email potential candidates to employers” form.

3 – and finally, i just want to clarify that a Zip/postal area search is definately planned for the 1.5 release of JA JB? allowing jobseekers to set a maximum distance they can travel, and jobs within that radius are displayed in the results.

the URL to my site is http://www.techrecruiter.co.uk so you can take a look at the problems if you need to

thanks in advance for any help 🙂

    Guy,

Please see my answers one by one as below.

    1. Several links within the employers menu, and jobseekers menu load blank pages when clicked…
    >> I need a little bit of time to fix this, please keep this onhold. There are too many locations in database (1532 locations) and it caused the error and it caused slowly loading speed on your site.

    2. I would also like to know if its possible to set up an “email latest jobs to jobseekers” which may automatically send job updates every X amount of days…….and a “email potential candidates to employers” form.
    >> “email latest jobs to jobseekers” is in menu item: “Job Alert” when JobSeeker logging in and currently we do not support “email potential candidates to employers” yet.

    3. I just want to clarify that a Zip/postal area search is definately planned for the 1.5 release of JA JB? allowing jobseekers to set a maximum distance they can travel, and jobs within that radius are displayed in the results.
    >> This will be integrated in JA JB 1.5.0 version and we are planning to launch at the end of next month.

Kindly check all again and get back to us for any other help.

    Hey there,

I noticed you was logged in today working on the site, and i am very greatful for fixing the various link problems 🙂

The “create new” link inside “job alert and saved search” in the jobseekers menu still appears to not be working, so i dont know if that is linked or something else causing that issue.

As for the many locations in the database, I am unsure if i will be keeping all of those as the website is still in early stages of development. i might decide to clear some of those up, depending on the requirements given to me for the website on review 🙂

i have one more question…. is it possible to change the layout of the locations list in the search/filter/forms? so that users are able to cascade and expand parent items etc revealing the locations set as child items in the area. making the finding of locations easier and faster for both job seekers and employers. this would be greatly appreciated if it can be done…. or suggested for the 1.5 release

again, thanks for the repairs you have done.. greatly appreciated 🙂
and thanks in advance for any help on this reply you can give me.

    Hello again,

was just working on my website, and i have noticed the fixes you done earlier have had several side effects, and new problems have started to occur –

on the job filter module – none of the filters work when clicking on them, the form menu is not displaying.
when adding new jobs, and viewing profiles… there are no locations being listed in the locations field….. justs shows the word “location” in text.
also when clicking “send email to jobseeker” as an employer doesnt seem to do anything at all.

I just thought i would ask about these as i was unsure if you had finished working on the fixes you were making earlier today. and i obviously dont want to do anything which could confuse that process.

    Thanks.

    Guy,

Please see my replies one by one as below:

    1. The “create new” link inside “job alert and saved search” in the jobseekers menu still appears to not be working.
    >> I have checked and could see that it works fine. Kindly check again and confirm the same.

    2. As for the many locations in the database, I am unsure if i will be keeping all of those as the website is still in early stages of development. i might decide to clear some of those up, depending on the requirements given to me for the website on review
    >> I have reported this to our development team and this will be fixed in JA JB 1.5 version. In order to solve this now, you should not set too many locations temporarily.

    3. Is it possible to change the layout of the locations list in the search/filter/forms
    >> You can customize the forms in http://www.techrecruiter.co.uk/administrator/index.php?option=com_jajobboard&view=jacustomtmpl

    4. Users are able to cascade and expand parent items etc revealing the locations set as child items in the area. making the finding of locations easier and faster for both job seekers and employers.

If there is something unclear, please feel free to write back for more info.
