Hello,I want to make a site for a news portal so I decided to do it with Joomla.

I installed Joomla, then bought and installed iJoomla news portal component and module and then I installed the JA Teline template and the JA news module.

My purpose was to get a template like the one in the demo of the ZA Teline:
    http://www.joomlart.com/templates_demo.php?template=ja_teline
or like the one in the iJoomla demo:
    http://www.ijoomla.com/magazine/edition/iJoomla-News-Portal/

Instead of this I got this:
    http://www.romfea.gr

I see in the forum that a guy managed it to do it exactly as in the demo:
    http://leoniesays.com/component/option,com_frontpage/Itemid,1/

He did this by upoloading ja_teline_quickstart and I did not because I did it one by one?

How will I make it now work and be more like the demo? I find it very confusing and very hard to do..

Is it necessary to install iJoomla component in order ot have this template work as a news portal? I have first found iJoomla and from there JA TEline so I read there that I have to buy both. Could I do my job by taking only JA Teline?

Any advices because I am new to Joomla and the all thing with com, menu, sections and mods is very confusing..

    Thanks

    Hi master

In teh download section of the club there is a guide to achive the site

You have to create some new module positions, for the tabs and the news module in the backend, then make publish the modules in the new created modules positions

then you have to config in your mainmenu the home by unpublished some things and activated some things

you will see this in the guide is explain very well there

also in the guide you will se how to config the news module to show what you want.

so take a moment and read the guide and enjoy reading it, for i can see all the templates have a guide.

    best regards and be patient

you will achive your site after reading this short guide

    good luck

tell us if you can do it

    bye

    Hi Kachete,
you mean the HTML guide from ja_teline_user_guide.zip right?

I did not find it very helpful.

    Could someone reply to this:
<blockquote>He did this by upoloading ja_teline_quickstart and I did not because I did it one by one?
    </blockquote>
Or to any other questions like if the iJoomla component is necessary..

    thanks anyway

yes i mean teh HTML guide

if you want to achieve something like the demo you have to start with this

    http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/want-a-fresh-joomla-site-like-teline-demo-including-500-internal-server-resolution/

This is a demo to show you how to beginn with the demo site like the other one

if you find a solution in this post i try to relate what i have done to do mine

1.- Install joomla in your site and made it running
4.- Install the modules JA-News and JA-Login (becouse you upload in the database the entries and not the modules files)
    Install the template teline
2.- Enter the phpmyadmin in your control panel so you can manage to upload the demo database (i have modified this becouse i have an error so i put it as and atachment here for you to use)
3.- After you upload your the database inside the one in the joomla installation you now have the site running but with some items to do left.
5.- Copy the entire image folder in the quickstart to the main joomla site
6.- Now the acces to the admin i cant identifies the code for the password so i use this solution to create a password in the main user via phpmyadmin http://forum.joomla.org/index.php/topic,10985.0.html.
7.- after creating the password and gain acces to the main backend you are invited to go to the frontend and see your site running smoth like i do

this is the solution i used to put the site running like the demo the other solution mi issues in the instalation maybe in the new posts are some new solutions

    hope its helps

Instaling and running the site are no rela trouble like try to run the spotligth module from rochea in teline 😀

    best regards

    hope its helps

    Hi Kachete,
this http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/want-a-fresh-joomla-site-like-teline-demo-including-500-internal-server-resolution/ was not very hepfull

I can understand what you have done to your site,
but I think you choose the hard way. It has to be a faster and easier way. Have you tried to install ja_teline_quickstart.zip? Anyone else? Maybe it is all fixed there.

I will serach the site for more..

There is absolutely no need to have the iJoomla component. Most likely the iJoomla component will “screw” up your site.

Upload the JA Teline Quickstart and follow the step by step guide or even watch the movie that ShannoN created. That should get you up and running in no time.

I did set ut Teline without quickstart and without iJoomla component so it is not a problem at all. However, it require some thorough reading and following instructions ( as well as access to myphpadmin and so on )

If you follow the quickstart it should not be a problem at all to install and get it to look like the demo.

    Good luck!

    Hi Erik,
I have just found out that there is no need to buy iJoomla and your post ensured me about that.

I have just installed JA Teline Quickstart to another domain and I got the result I wanted to. If only I had posted here earlier I would have save the 60 euros from iJoomla. I did that mistake because I first found iJoomla and then saw the Teline template and in their site they say about having both in order to work.

Anyway I getting the meaning of coms and mods but I still have a lot of work to do.

    Thanks a lot..
    Giorgos
