    Hi Guys,

    Today I accidentally updated my site to Joomla! 3.4 which has subsequently broken my Purity III template.

    As you ca see here: http://www.smart-drones.com

    It seems like the module class suffixes are repeating inside of one another. Very frustrating.

    Now normally I would restore my Akeeba backup but I have just tried that and all my backups since the 9th of February are completely corrupted.

    So my question is: Is there a way to revert to Joomla! 3.3?

    And if not, will it be a long time before there is a purity III update that will fix my current problems?

    Many thanks for your kind patience 🙂

    Jethro.

    Hi there, it seems like my main problem is that when using a module class suffix the module gets repeated inside of some padding, making the module look ugly.

    http://www.smart-drones.com

    This is how the template looked before updating to 3.4…

    And this is after…

    Assuming that it was the Joomla! 3.4 update that was causing this problem… I asked the kind folks over on the Joomla! 3.xx forums for help regarding this matter and was directed to this video…

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VLt-WQCOCpw

    Which helped me revert my Joomla! 3.4 installation back to Joomla! 3.3.6… but still the problem was there. So I thought the purity III template was affected.

    So I uninstalled/reinstalled the Purity III Template on the reverted 3.3.6 Joomla! site and STILL the problem persists.

    I even updated the T3 framework to 2.4.4…

    Now, do I need to cut my losses and do a fresh install of the entire Joomla! website (which I am absolutely desperate to avoid) or is there a way to salvage this?

    Best regards,

    Jethro.

    Hi again…

    It seems as though I have narrowed down the problem to the class suffix appearing twice.. you can see here in the screenshot…

    <div id="Mod116" class="row-feature _white ">
    <div class="container">
    <div class="row row-feature-ct">
    <div class="custom _white">
    <div class="row">
    </div>
    </div>
    </div>
    </div>

    So I need to remove the inner “custom _white” class… but I don’t know how.

    I don’t quite understand how this could have happened.

    Thanks again,

    Jethro.

    Hi there
    Do you have same issue with default Joomla! template. Just want to know it to verify it’s Purity issue.

    Thank you,

    Thank you so much for taking the time to respond 🙂 . It seems as though I have managed to solve the issue!

    The solution was to edit the file default.php in the folder smart-drones.com/modules/mod_custom/tmpl and remove the code… changing:

    <div class="custom<?php echo $moduleclass_sfx ?>" <?php if ($params->get('backgroundimage')) : ?> style="background-image:url(<?php echo $params->get('backgroundimage');?>)"<?php endif;?> >
    <?php echo $module->content;?>
    </div>

    to

    <?php echo $module->content;?>

    So here is my question,

    Before updating my Joomla! everything was working fine, so why would updating Joomla to 3.4 cause this random <div class=”custom”> to start appearing and making the module class suffix display twice inside of each other?

    Also, Previously I removed the 60px padding on each module by adding the following to my custom.css…

    .page-masthead .row-feature {padding:0px;}

    Which worked perfectly.

    Now I have had to update this to…

    .page-masthead .row-feature {padding:0px;}

    .row-feature {padding:0px;}

    Why would a Joomla update change things like this???

    Anyway, it is working now, and if there is one thing I have learned, make sure your backups are working before making any updates!!! 😉

    Best regards!

    Jethro.

    I too bricked my site by moving to from 3.3.6 to 3.4. I had to revert and luckily was able to do that through Akeeba Backup Pro. I was able to update another of my sites to 3.4 just fine. For now I am going to use Cpanel and replicate my site to a dev location, and try the update there once 3.4.x is all worked out.
