We are using JA Event and would like to use the Acymailing module style from JA Rent. Is this possible and if so, can you tell us how? Many thanks. 🙂

Both are different templates and using different style code php/js file .
In case you want to use the override of the acymailing module from JA Rent template you need to check the override files used in JA Rent template/html/mod_acymailing/
module and see the how the code is implemented in these files .

To check the style used in JA Rent template for this module , Use inspect element from Google chrome browser and see the style code . Then override the style via custom.css file
/css/custom.css

this way you can do this custom work.
