March 21, 2007 at 9:46 am #216214If you go to you live site and “find” the category by clicking on the appropriate category, you can find the “id” and such for this. Just copy everything after http://www.yoursite.com/ and use this to link to.
Hmm, perhaps not the easiest explanation possible. Let me rephrase.
1: Lets say you want to link to the “news” category. You click on your news category ( the page you want listed ) It will have the link of something similar to this:
http://www.yoursite.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=blogcategory&id=15&Itemid=33You can see here that it links to the blogcategoryid=15Itemid=33
2: Copy everything after the yoursite.com/ and use this for linking to in your news.
3: Use your Editor of preference ( html editor/wysiwyg editor ) to add this as a link to any text you want. That way users are directed to the correct category.
If you are using the advanced JCE editor you can actually just link to the category by choosing to insert link from content. It is EXTREMELY easy and higly recommended!
Good luck!
ps: sorry if I am not explaining it too well, just trying to push in the right direction. 🙂
March 21, 2007 at 11:49 am #216225If you can see my test site, i can better explain my request.
the site is: http://www.professionegeologo.it/joomla
In the frontpage you can see two category of news: “notizie globali” and “Bandi e avvisi”.
For every category you can see 8 link to the latest news.
The problem is: how can i add, after the last link, the text “complete archive” and link this text to the link:
index.php?option=com_content&task=category§ionid=1&id=81&Itemid=2 for “notizie globali” and link
index.php?option=com_content&task=category§ionid=1&id=82&Itemid=2 for “bandi ed avvisi” ?I hope you can understand my bad english.

March 21, 2007 at 11:53 am #216227Yes, I understand your request better now. However, I am not sure on how to solve this. I am not sure if this is really possible in the “standard” version of Joomla as it is.
Of course, you could add a new module and module position to be located below these two but that would not be the best of solutions. Hopefully someone a bit more skilled on this could assist you?
