November 24, 2009 at 8:45 pm #146325Is there a way to add an image in an article on the front page?
From what I read here I understand that the only way to do so is to rename templates/ja_raite/html/com_content/frontpage but that ruins the layout (picture left – text right).
Can someone please tell me how to insert an extra picture in a front page article without losing the layout?
Thanks in advance!

March 8, 2010 at 5:11 am #335250Dear freakyflow,
Please provide more details on what you wish to achieve. Are you planning to add additional image apart from the image in article? or an image from other domain into the article?
http://www.joomlart.com/demo/#templates.joomlart.com/ja_raite
The template allows resize of first image and it should be within the path of the website.
More details from your side can help us to help you. If i was you, i would refrain from using such language, especially when there is lack of details from your side. Hope we can find a answer to your problem.
Regards
Arvind
March 8, 2010 at 5:15 am #335251Its pretty simple, did you read the original post?
Front page articles can only contain 1 image, any additional images do not show up.
This is hardwired in the php for some mysterious reason.

No one, here is blind. If you are requested to provide more details, you should comply and help us to help you.
I could add and show the second image, in the full article. and if i am correct, you wish to show a similar second image on the frontpage. Which as JA Developer has said, that it is not possible, because the template is made in such a way that it will resize the first image and show it at the allocated area.
The template design will not allow second image to be shown on the frontpage, atleast not without change of codes. You can disable the template style for the frontpage by renaming /templates/ja_raite/html/com_content/frontpage . Rename the frontpage folder and the template styles will not be applied to the frontpage. The results would be like this :
So, you can rename the mentioned folder above and use Joomla! default for frontpage.

It’s called a template override, almost every Joomla template contains them and there’s nothing mysterious about it.This one highlights the first image of the article on the frontpage and strips the rest. If you don’ t like it, then don’t use it.
If you want someone to take the time to customise it for you then you have gone completely the wrong way about it with you’re attitude.

Just disable the JA_News modules in the administrative area and then create a page to look like you want using Joomla’s internal CMS functionality.
We often forget, we are NOT forced to use the JA_News modules on a template.
They’re just modules. You ONLY should use them IF you want the look the JA_News modules provide. If you want something different…then turn them off and do something different!
Have fun!
