Has anybody added background music to their homepage? Adding a line of code to the index.html page didn’t work.

So, right now, I have the real player music bar embedded in my lead article See link but this is not ideal.

On our current site I was able to place it nicely out of the way on the right hand side.

    Suggestions?

    Thanks, KDG

There are several programs available wich will convert a mp3 file into a flash file with embedded player. That usually works quite well as almost everyone supports flash.

I for example cant see some content on your site as im boycotting quicktime 🙂

And there are also some nice modules available to play music on your sites and sometimes even possible to work with playlists.

Personally i dont like auto play of music on websites i visit but thats a personal prefence.

I would hit the joomla extension directory first. If not as bennitos stated there are quite a few conversion programs out there. A simple google search and you will be busy for quiet awhile. Just be sure whatever you do there is an OFF option. I personally will just shut a site down if it instantly starts playing music it just drives me nuts. Like those annoying “Congraduations” banners that are floating around the net. They make me want to put my fist through the monitor lol.
