    Hello!
This might be an easy question – is it possible to add the T3 framework to an existing website?

I can only figure out how to install T3 as a new joomla install, but I would like to add it to an existing website without worrying about starting over from scratch!

Or – is the only way to use T3 2010 for Joomla1.5 to build the site starting from the Framework install, and then trying to import all of my plugins/modules/database data into that clean install?

Thanks for any advice – I couldn’t find this info in the forum, but it exists, I would REALLY appreciate a link to whatever info is out there already!

    Thanks – J

You can install T3 Framework Plugin and any T3 Framework 2.0 Template on any existing website. You will have to match the layout design and styling.
    That is all.

Thanks korb – I’ll keep experimenting. My problem was that after installing the Framework and BLANK template, and assigning the to a menu item, that menu item simply showed the default template and not the T3_blank template! I’ve gone round and round and can’t figure out why the default T3 template doesn’t show. On a clean install, there was no problems.

What’s the best way to debug this?

    Hi korb –
Yes, here are some links to a few menu items that should be showing the T3 Blank Template:

(preview page for the template – comes up really blank!)
    http://egiva.com/index.php?tp=1&template=ja_t3_blank

(page with some Mosets Tree info added – it shows the DEFAULT template instead, which is “JS Community”.)
    http://egiva.com/index.php?option=com_mtree&Itemid=101

(here’s another test- a Joomla Content Section set as “blank” – again, it just shows the header/footer of the default template, but no sign of the T3_blank which has been assigned to it!)
    http://egiva.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=section&layout=blog&id=5&Itemid=102

    Notes:
I’ve cleared the cache and gone through the same steps that I’ve taken 100 times before, with no effect. I’ve checked and double-checked that the T3_blank template is assigned to these menu items in the T3 backend – no go! Joomla marks the T3 template as “assigned” … weird!

Thanks for your help, we’re lost!

Is the T3 Blank Template set as default?
Is the T3 Framework Plugin enabled?

I can’t figure it out what it could be, I would recommend posting a support ticket.

Hi Korb – sorry to take a while to get back.

    1.
T3_blank set as default: no, I have JS Community set as default. I’m trying to conditionally call T3_blank as the template assigned to a menu item.

    2.
T3_Plugin : YES, it is enabled.

Is it necessary to have T3 set as the DEFAULT plugin? I was hoping to keep JS Community as the default, and turn on T3_blank for one of the menu items so I can start to configure it.

    THANK YOU!

T3 Framework Plugin is not loaded if T3 Template is not set as default. This mean that nothing can display any content.

Sorry, you have to customize your template on localhost.

Thanks Korb – yes, that answers the question! I’ll experiment with a default-only install on localhost.
