Will it be really difficult for me to add a chat forum to this template?

I am sure it is possible but I want to make sure it integrates properly and actually looks like a part of my site http://www.alovelypint.com

No shouldnt be hard at all.

Take a look at the chat extentions here:
    http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/communication/chat

Most of them have demo pages, take a look at them and try the one you like best.

    Thanks bennitos!

I think I will try Agora Pantheon and Fireboard. I am still not sure how I can make them look consistent with the Pyrite template though…

Well I tried both of thos forums and nothing was satisfactory. However, I then tried Joo!BB and it is great!

Only one problem now – in all of my posts, the blank lines are not showing up. This looks really bad in a long post with separate paragraphs as everything gets squished up.

No-one else is having the problem on their sites, so I am wondering if this is a problem with JA_Pyrite template or perhaps my Joomla configuration.

    Any ideas?

Can you post your live url? so we can see the problem?

Joo!BB has some bugs that need to be fixed before it works properly, it also does not allow for the use of child boards. Also, if you want to integrate with CB and a PM such as UDDEim, i think fireboard is the way to go

Just a note, you still have the demo content favicon in your root/template folder. It displays a scripted black on white “JA”. To replace it with your own you first create your own, e.g. take a pic you want as favicon, go to http://tools.dynamicdrive.com/favicon/ and create it in the first step. Than you open your templates/ja_pyrite folder and upload the new one, replacing the old current one. You can also add it to your root again but it should also be present in the template folder.

Thanks for that – I didn’t know about favicons – will change mine when I come up with a decent design.

Incidentally, not many icons show up in my IE7… wonder if that’s a security setting?
