February 13, 2018 at 10:16 pm #1091743Hello,
I am following the documentation for adding different colors to the categories. This is the first time I have attempted to create a Field and I’m not sure I’ve done it correctly? I’ve attached images of what I did when creating the Field, an image using it in the Category and what it does on the frontend.
Unfortunately, the quick start shows nothing for this. If you can correct me, I’d appreciate it as I cannot get it to work as the demo shows.
Thank you.

February 14, 2018 at 2:49 pm #1091856Hi,
By default, when you access the custom fields in backend of your site, it will list fields for ‘Articles’, you should filter by ‘Category’: http://prntscr.com/ienmtp to see the default fields of template.
Cheers!

February 22, 2018 at 9:21 am #1093206Hi,
You should create a custom field with type of List, check the attached screenshot for more info of this custom field settings and the built-in colors.
I will report to the documentation team for further updating on the docs of this template.

February 22, 2018 at 7:19 pm #1093324Sorry but I don’t quite understand. I have copied what you have shown in the attachment and I am still not getting the category color on the front end? Are you supposed to put "cat-purple" in the Value Field or do you put the color value 9966FF in the Value Field?
I’m not even sure what these colors will do? Or where they are seen? Are they a background color?

February 23, 2018 at 4:44 am #1093396Hi,
As you can see in the screenshot I sent, this color field will be a dropdown list (list all colors which is pre-defined), then in category settings > Field tab, you just need to select color name from the list, no need to put the value like you said: http://i.prntscr.com/eH8wDeLWTtyQ4G_t3DoUow.png
It will show the associated color for categories like this: http://prntscr.com/iil74t

February 23, 2018 at 9:08 am #1093439Hi @saguaros,
Thank you for your response.
We don’t have the "fields" tab when we’re viewing a category, please see – http://prntscr.com/iin919
We’ve got article options turned on, as you can see here – http://prntscr.com/iin8ww
Please advise how to add the fields tab.
Thanks

February 23, 2018 at 9:17 am #1093445@romolo: kindly check my above screenshot for the ‘Color’ field: https://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/adding-color-field-to-category-page/#post-1093206
You will see the ‘Category’ option which is set to ALL, make sure that you assign that category to the associated field, it will show then.

So it works as you stated in this link: http://prntscr.com/iil74t
But as you can see in the attached image, when I go to the category list page, I see Colors: Pink Color
https://prnt.sc/iivzzjHow do I remove that. Thanks again for all the help.
