August 27, 2012 at 8:53 pm #180288I’ve just started working on a new site http://mmi-systems-tn.com/ using the demo package for Joomla 2.5. When I change or add a new image to the frontpage slideshow, it doesn’t appear. I thought it was caching, but I don’t have caching turned on. The server company assured me they do not have it turned on at their level either. There should be four images in the frontpage slideshow now, but only 3 show up. I’ve checked spelling, settings, etc. Not sure where the problem might be.
What can be causing this? And how do I fix it?
Thanks,

August 28, 2012 at 2:45 pm #465627I found the JAT3 Clean Cache button at the top right, hit that, and it fixed my slideshow problem. But now I have another problem… I’ve been using Firebug to locate the style sheets to edit to get my site to look correct for the size of the logo image at the top of the screen. When I would hit the JAT3 Clean Cache button, everything would be undone! So I noticed the style sheet files changed all the time, /public_html/t3-assets directory. So I went to the stylesheet in /public_html/templates/ja_rave/css/template.css. When I modified it for the size of the logo, hit the cache purge button, everything worked great….
EXCEPT now the Typography menu item takes you to a page that is totally screwed up! I depend on that page so I know what I can use for topography. What files would I have corrupted? I thought I only touched the t3-assets style sheets.
Please help me get this page working right again.
Thanks!!!

August 28, 2012 at 3:07 pm #465629Hi patvandenbosche,
If you are in development stage, please go to Backend > Extensions > Template manager > Your default template > Global tab and set Enable Development Mode to Yes then you don’t need to clean T3 cache after making change to template.
Also set Compress CSS in Template manager to No, with Firebug, this will show you exact file css you want to make change, not T3-assets.
When I visit typograply page of your site: http://www.mmi-systems-tn.com/index.php/typography, I see that it works fine, Let me know how you wanna achieve so that I can detemine how to assist.
Regards.

August 28, 2012 at 3:08 pm #465630Looks fine to me! Clear browser cache.
Couple of suggestions for you. Go to Template Manager / your template.
In ‘Global’ set “Enable Development Mode” to ‘Yes’
Set both “Optimise CSS” and “Optimise JS” to ‘No’Then any file you find with Firebug will be the real one – not a compressed css file in T3 assets. You will still need to hit ‘Clean JAT3 cache’ button when dealing with modules.
Hope that helps

August 28, 2012 at 3:14 pm #465632Thank you! It was the browser cache. That’s what I get for trying to do some work in a doctor’s office while waiting on my husband. I thank you for giving me the instructions on dealing with using Firebug. That is a HUGE help!
