Hi I’m still getting my feet wet with Joomla and CMS’s and exploring these templates – especially Cloris.

Couple questions: is it possible to add an image slider that links to the featured articles in the blog section? Usually I would use something like the Nivo Slider on a static page. Could I just plug that code into the Custom HTML for the page1 position? (And is there an easy way to link the images to my featured articles?)

Also, would I be able to place something like GCalander in one of the page positions on the front page, or are those limited to Custom HTML modules only?

You can put any code in a module position as long as you setup joomla correctly. Also be aware that joomla and all of the JA templates make extensive use of moo tools so mixing that with jQuery scrips can cause all sorts of problems. It is always bet to stick with one library IMHO

Have a looknthrough the JA extensions as some of them may fit your needs. There are also plenty available on the JED that might fit your needs but try and look at the moo tools ones rather than the jQuery ones.
