Ive just read the documentation thread for the template and see that a few options i expected to come with the quickstart upload are not there

I used the quickstart uploader for my template but K2 was not included… is the best way to add k2 to this template to download the component directly from here?

i would like to add the blog archive, allow visitors to rate and comment on articles, and also the paypal function for purchasing items with k2.

Are all these options available with the k2 installation with this template or are there things i need to do to enable these options first?

EDIT:

i’ve now installed k2, looks like i have to recreate all the articles in k2 now to add the functions available in the demo =(

shame there isnt a k2 quickstart to use as a guide for the option settings

Hi,

By the time that JA Methys was released there was no K2 for J1.7.x and this is the reason we didn’t have K2 among the quick start package. We do include the K2 on our J.1.5.x quickstart.

Do you recommend i start again in j 1.5?

there seems to be a steep learning curve with k2

will there be a release for quickstart for this template with k2?

If you want my personal opinion i still have my own site on J.1.5.x and i don’t intent to upgrade on J.1.7.x yet, i will probably do that on J2.5.

As for the K2 quickstart on J.1.7.x i am not sure if our dev team will have a K2 quickstart really soon for this template, as for now our team has put a lot of effort to create a similar layout ( as you can also see on our demo server ) without the use of K2.

Also, say if i was to keep the k2 in j 1.7 is it possible to have the blog layout on the front page along with the dates in the pink circle there.

i cant see the option where to change the date of article added in the pink circle

Hi as far as i know there are some components for K2 that can do that for you, but i haven’t used any of them so i am not very familiar but i am sure you can find some very usefull info here-> http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/extension-specific/k2-extensions

Yes but you probably have to customize your CSS code for that.
