June 19, 2014 at 1:44 am #198964Hey Guys
Have been able to add item variations to all our different K2 categories via individual items. However – how can I assign -say- item-sticky3 and the twitter bird to all incoming crons from twitter? Or in general say how can any one or multiple item variations be automatically assigned to a particular K2 Category or Social Feed element? Is this even possible in K2?

Which variations you refer to? Please describe in more details how you add, I will try to check it further.

July 7, 2014 at 5:41 pm #541441O.K. – how can have item-sticky3 and the little twitter bird be automatically assigned to all incoming crons from the twitter social feed? That is something we want to do and we will implement it.

July 8, 2014 at 7:53 am #541500Make sure that you set twitter as the alias for the category which stores the imported tweets. All articles belong to this category will be assigned automatically with a css class .twitter and they will have that little bird image as background.
Regarding to the ‘item-sticky3’, please send me the screenshot highlighting this item so that I can give further suggestion.

You will notice on this screen shot of http://www.dr4christ.com/index.php/itemlist/category/15-twitter that the first twitter post has been assigned the item-sticky3 designation manually in its K2 Extended Classes Field which results in it overriding of the twitter bird. The second twitter post remains unchanged and is how it normally crons. How can have both item-sticky3 and the twitter bird be automatically assigned to all incoming crons from the twitter social feed?

July 24, 2014 at 7:51 am #543326Hi Tom,
In settings of extra field, K2 provides an option so that you can set the default values for extra field. Please try to create a new extra field and set ‘item-sticky3’ as default value: http://prntscr.com/45sopq
And assign this extra field to K2 category which holds the imported twitter feed, all items belongs to this category will have ‘item-sticky3’ as extra field by default.
August 4, 2014 at 4:54 pm #544486Hi,
I did ehis but it did not work. I enabled the ‘Extra Fields’ showing in the item view options and verify that the item has the ‘Additional info’ as blue. But it does not give the style. I guess it is because the name of the extra fields is ‘Blue’. Whenever I switch to the ‘Extended Fields’ extra field group and give the value ‘blue’ it changes the style. Can you help please?

Dear Saguaros
I understand that I can assign ‘item-sticky 3’ permanently (and have before) via the K2 extra fields. But when I do that it over rides the twitter bird – I want to have both of the styles (Twitter Bird & item-sticky 3) combined. Again I’m not sure you can do that. If not that is o.k. (it could be one or the other but not both) but I would really like to try and do this if possible – an tried to explain this over the last month and still haven’t got to the end of this. So the best way I can repeat the question is – How can I have both the styles A.) item-sticky3 and B.) twitter bird (this is the twitter default) COMBINED so that all incoming crons from Twitter can be automatically assigned the bird and light blue pin up note? Right now one style always over rides the other. I upgraded to Joomla 3.3.3 and will be asking questions to get everything updated correctly via the extension manager over the next few days. But so far this hasn’t had any affect on this situation.

No one has asked for my Creds that I see here via a PM. I’m not sure this is even possible – it’s just in the Question phase. Again for Help Guru Jedi Masters – if it’s not possible to combine the styles Itemsticky3 and twitter – that’s o.k. – I’ll close this chapter and move on. But I thought it worthy of a question.

September 6, 2014 at 6:24 pm #548572We have decided to close our inquiries into this issue voluntarily. We understand it is more than likely impossible to combine two varying styles on incoming posts. Thanks for all that looked into this issue for us. We would prefer to try and fix some of the other higher priority problems we have on the JA Wall forum currently.
Have a great weekend,
Tom
