Hi,

Can anyone help me with this error… I receive it when trying to modify any of the global settings. I can’t even change my site name without receiving this error. I”ve tried resetting permissions and contacting my host, but no one seems to be able to point me in the right direction. I’ve also tried modifying the httaccess file, as suggested on a forum.

I’ll provide admin access on request.

do you have more info on the error like the exact error message being given?

also, which version of joomla are you using?

The error is:

You don’t have permission to access /administrator/index.php on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

version 1.58 . I used the installer pack with the JAUvite template.

Appreciate any help you can give.

judging from the error message. it could be possibly one of these things

1) something wrong with .htaccess file
2) permissions not set correctly
3) problems in configuration.php

if you are ok with it, provide me with your admin access in PM and i will take a look

Ok, hosting company replied back with the following and all is now good after this…

*Mod-sec is causing the issue. We have disabled it*

Not sure what that means, but oh well.
