Now we need to go to Profiles.

You have already made one called myfrontpage so scroll down on the settings until you get to layout settings. For desktop layout pick sildeshow.

Save it.

Now just to make sure check the default layout and that it’s desktop layout is default.

Save and that is it. You should be done!!

Front page and only front page allows the slideshow – no other pages do so hotels etc should be as you want.

Ok so did all that. (white has gone) but unfortunately when i click on five star hotels we still have the problem http://www.myjakartaconcierge.com/index.php?option=com_jshopping&controller=category&task=view&category_id=23&Itemid=543&lang=en

Is this part right under page assignments

That’s it!! Myfrontpage uses layout slideshow and default uses default.

Please can we clarify again what is in each Layout.

In default you do NOT have this line

<block name=”slideshow” main-inner=”2″>slideshow,sidenews</block>

In slideshow you DO have that line

This removes the block where slideshow sits (provided of course that you have set its position as slideshow!!)

If there is no block for it to show on Hotels, it can’t. 🙂

I think you need to clear out the JAT3 cache and also maybe your Joomla cache. On my Safari it looks great without slideshow.

SO ARE YOU SAYING when you click on hotels and then click on FIVE STAR HOTELS you get a page that comes up with 2 hotels on it?

Because I have cleared cache on my browsers and on my site and i still get the slideshow. I will close my computer and reboot it and switch of my modems and see what happens. HOWEVER on my iPad it is having the same issue.

Last time when I was having the same problem someone called BEAR at the helpdeask suggested I upgrade the Joomshopping but when i sort advice from the Joomshopping help desk and forumn on how to upgrade it nobody responded 🙁

Thanks for the screen shot. It is interesting as when i past the url that is showing in your screen shot I get the same thing as you do.

Do you think it could be as simple as upgrading the Joomshopping? It was suggested to me before but have not worked out how to do it.

I’m not sure how you are getting the other url to be honest mate – because it is tied to home-page so the template and what we have done is working as it should. Slideshow only on home-page! If that makes any sense.

But if you use the menü route and click on Hotels and then 5 star you can see the result. Perfect looking site.

Front page looks really good now – have you played with the different transitions included in slideshow?

I don’t know what version of JS you are using but as you are not selling with I’d leave it as is. It CAN be hard work or complex to upgrade. If you are on 3.2.7 I think we need to do about 5 or 6 different upgrades to get to 3.5. You will lose your data unless we do an export first then import when finished with the updates. So a lot of work for ? 😉

Anyhow, Can I go get a bier now please? 😀 If I am ever In Jakarta you can buy me a very cold Gin Tonic. :laugh:

Ok thats strange as now n my ipad it is working but it also did this last time and then a few hours later the ipda was back to showing the slideshow everywhere. Sio fingers crossed lets see what tomorrow brings.

Yes, very! Also productive. Jim has done brilliantly. 🙂

Now Jim knows how to edit and copy and change layouts, how to build new profiles, and how to assign pages (with their different layouts and profiles) plus how not to let JoomShooping bite you, using everything we learned, so an excellent day I think. It took me a long time (with tears and blood and sweat) to learn all this!! – and I’m still an idiot!

I must say he really knows how to use good fotografie. Site looks great. 😉

Morning Swissa,

Thanks for all your help yesterday. I hope you had a few cold beers last night. I was in Geneva last summer so next time I am out that way the drinks are definitely on me.

My ipadnis back to the bad version again and my laptop is still showing the sideshow on all the 2nd level joomshopping pages. I have checked with a couple of friends overseas and they have the same view.

I was thinking that given I don’t have a lot of data in the site yet maybe I should uninstall joomshopping and reinstall the latest version. That way if I still have the same problem I can go back to the guys at joomlart and let them know that there solution did not work. What do you think?

This is a weird one. I don’t get the problem in Safari but I do get it in Chrome!

Well, you’ve got a backup so the data set is safe. It could be worth a try. You can go straight to 3.5 which works on my Tiris.

Remember to uninstall through Extensions Manager / Manage and clear the cache before the new install.

EDIT: If you don’t have that much content in there why not restart with a completely fresh quickstart package? Then everything is all at 2.5 and latest modules etc. You have the check-list here now on how to do your slideshow trick for the front page and all the posts of how we hid the images in JoomShopping using css so all the info is at your disposal!

Ok I tried just reinstalling the joomshopping and that did not help. Still have the same problem when you click on Five Star Hotels.

I will install the quickstart to a spare domain and see if I have the same problems.
