Hi,

When the fancy animation box was changed to the standard virtuemart popup when adding a product to cart, 2 things broke. I didn’t realize it until now.

1. The “Recommend to friend” popup is broken now. It only opens the current product page in a new window.
2. The “Ask a question about this product” popup is broken now. It only opens the current product page in a new window.

What can I do to get these back and working correctly again?

Hi calavaro,

The issue is caused by the conflict of System – Preorder plugin with the jQuery of “Recommend to friend” and “Ask a question about this product” popup. And the conflict still happens when I tried to test on the default product default layout of VM component.

You just can try to disable that plugin to see the buttons still work fine with popup. In this case, i suggest you to contact with this Preorder component’s devs to get better suolutions.

Hi Leo,

The preorder guys had a hotfix made for me.

However, now the “Ask a question about this product” link does not open in a popup. The “Recommend to Friend” link opens fine in a popup. I think this is realted to the overrides of Hawkstore (the “Recommend to friend” link was added later by custom coding, and uses standard virtuemart styling, and the “Ask a question..” link is style over ridden by hawkstore).

Any ideas about this one?

Hi Calavaro,

I has just fixed the popup of Ask a question as I helped you previously by using the default scripts of VM to display the Ask a question popup. Mate, please remember to take a backup of the site if possible, even the patch of Pre Order component guys gave you. It will be easy to get the problem again when you reinstall the Pre order component or its required plugins. Hope you understand me 🙂

Hi Leo,

I have backups for each iteration of change of the site. In fact I have over 30 backups….
Only problem is that I do not have a backup after I modified all products pictures/descriptions/related products.

It seems you modifications broke 3 things on the site (maybe more)

1. I had custom coding in the product layout page to display social icons. These are now gone. These are critical.

2. The “Recommend to Friend” link is now gone too. What happened? It’s a critical part.

3. Now the front page tab items do not display “Sales” tags anymore. It was working about 2 hours ago, and I haven’t made any changes since.

Can you revert back to the files before your modifications and post the code so I can modify the popup myself?

Edit: I just checked and my last backup was 6 hours ago, and I stopped working on this roughly 3 hours ago. So there is going to be a full 3 hours of work gone if I have to restore from backup today. I hope not since the last 3 hours ironed out a lot of minor bugs and issues, and I’d hate to redo them…

Hi calavaro,

I”m sorry for the lateness of my response on your concerns. As we discussed via PM that the VM cart doesn’t display the quantity and titles of the products that are selected by shoppers unless he refreshes the browser. Here are the solution on this issue:

1. Download and extract the vmprices.js in my attached file to templates/ja_hawkstore/js/ path.

2. Open templates/ja_hawkstore/etc/assets.xml file and change:

<file>js/javmprices.js</file>

to

<file>js/vmprices.js</file>

With this fix, the VM cart module can update the selected products immediately after adding product to cart with the default VM AddToCart layout.
