I’m trying to install JA Nex for the news section of my Joomal 2.5 site which is using JA Social as its’ default template. After ‘installing’ the template with the extensions manager and getting a message saying ‘JA Nex is now updated and available for use with Joomla 2.5’, the new template is not listed in the template manager. I tried installing it three times, always with the same result.

I tried both installing from my desktop and via http from the http://www.rebel-institute/tmp folder

    Hello,

I can’t connect to your website as your server gives a 500 error.
    Please verify.

You need to add your IP address to the .htaccess file in the administration folder.

Maybe you should disable this so i can help you.

Okay, I’ve disabled it by rename the .htaccess file in the administrator folder to htaccess.txt. It’s easy enough to do with any ftp capable tool such as dreamweaver or smartftp.

I’ve tried from both my notebook and my ipad and had no problem logging into the backend and do changes to the menues.

I am still getting the same error maybe you make use of a redirection plugin for Joomla administration panel ?
I don’t have that information here ->Access Information provided for JA Staff (JA Forum Feature)

    Please advice.

I’m not using anything like that. I’m only using a registration redirection plugin to redirect the joomla registration to the the jomsocial registration. That shouldn’t affect your ability to log into the backend though. I really am surprised you have those problems because i’m using the admin backend several hours every day from different computers without the kind of problems you are describing.

Anyhow, I’ve attached a screenshot of the backend settings of the user9 module. Maybe you can work out by looking at it what the problem is.

    Thanks.

Sorry I put that screenshot in the wrong thread. It was meant for a different problem with the user9 module. You can see what I mean if you go to the homepage and scroll down.

Just so you do not think pascm is going totally bonkers here is the screenshot of what I too am seeing when we go to the admin logon link you supplied. I can only assume that you have something configured incorrectly with either your .htaccess or maybe some other security on your server.

Until we can see the back end of your site there is little we can do to help.

    Please try the following URL’s:

    http://www.rebel-institute.org/administrator
    http://www.rebelnews.org/administrator
    http://www.therebel.org/administrator

One of them should work. I’m using the backend every day for many hours, accessing it from different computers, and I have never seen that problem before.

None of those work for me. Maybe they do for Pascm?

I have tried both on my PC and on an iPad with the same result.
