    After upgrading JomSocial, the main menu of JomSocial looks kind of ugly (see the dots in front of every menu option on the site home page), a fact that the Jomsocial people blame on the JA Wall template. They suggested i upgrade the template to the latest version and if the problem persists to contact the template provider. Anyhow, I tried to upgrade the template using the JA Extension Manager. I started with updating the JA Extension Manager itself, but when I did that, the JA Extension Manager suddernly started to produce blank pages.

    Hi Andrew,

    Did you try to download and installl this JAEM component again? And by default, this template doesn’t go with JomSocial template so we don’t make any custom / change to this 3rd party component.

    You can try to install JAEM again, take a backup of your site and update JA Wall to the latest version. If there is any problem, tell me in details, I will try to check for you.

    Regards

    I’ve downloaded and installed JAEM already, with the same result: blank pages when opening the admin component from the backend.

    Try to enable Error Reporting in Global Configuration, it will show the error message and you will know where it comes from 🙂

    I’ve changed the error reporting setting from none to 6135, but couldn’t find any error messages relating to JAEM. I was however able to get JAEM to work by uninstalling and reinstalling it. I’ve meanwhile worked out that the problem is not caused by Jomsocial, but JA Wall. According to firebug l the bullet points are NOT created by the Jomsocial stylesheet settings in ../components/com_community/templates/default/css/style.css, so I assume that it’s JA Wall who is creating them.

    #community-wrap .js-toolbar .nav {
    list-style-type: none;
    margin: 0;
    padding: 0;
    }
    #community-wrap .navbar .nav {
    display: block;
    float: left;
    left: 0;
    margin: 0 10px 0 0;
    position: relative;
    }

    I appreciate that JA cannot be made responsible for every third party components in the market, but I consider JomSocial and Kunena to be two components important enough for JA to support, especially since there are other template vendors out there selling JA Wall-like templates that come with JomSocial and Kunea templates included for half the price it has cost me to acquire JA Wall (membership + template itself)

    Yes, its a known issue and thats why we have been doing compatibility updates for our latest templates and T3 blank. We have covered jomsocial, kunena apart from docman, virtuemart, hikashop, joomshopping, k2, easyblog and few more.

    For now, you can detail your issues ( screenshots with specific page links) with the template and we shall try to help you out.

    I’ve upgraded the JA Wall template and all JA extensions but the problem persists, see attached screenshot.

    Could you post URL of page where problem can be seen here?

    Here’s another screenshot of the problem. I’ve highlighted the problematic bullet points with arrows.

    Please note: You can only see the menu bullet points on http://therebel.org after logging in. You can either register as a user or I can pm you the admin login details.

    Please take a look on Jomsocial’s demo site and you’ll notice that there are no bullets (http://demo3.jomsocial.com). (you need to log in with the username and password provided on the login screen to see the menu.)

    Probably the JA Wall template is overriding some stylings, and this is why it looks like it’s caused by the Jomsocial component. But like I said, it’s really caused by the JA Wall template. You can check it yourself, simply switch to any of the other templates installed on my site and you’ll see the difference.

    I would also like to mention again that I have upgraded the site to the latest Joomla 2.5.14 version, the latest JA extensions and JA Wall 1.0.9 template.

    Hi Andrew,

    Try opening file: /templates/ja_wall/css/core.css, at approx line 92:

    .container-main ul li {
    background: url("../images/bullet-1.png") no-repeat scroll 0 7px transparent;
    margin-top: 2px;
    padding-left: 10px;
    }

    You can try to remove above bullet background image

    That looks much better now. Only one cosmetic problem remains, the images on the jomsocial menu are too high, see attached screenshots.

    It seems to require a login to see that problem, could you pm me a temporary account?

    I’ve PM’ed Saguores with the login details yesterday.

    Hi Andrew,

    Try to add this css rule:

    #community-wrap :before, #community-wrap :before {
    padding-top: 3px !important; /* change to your desired value */
    }

    to /templates/ja_wall/css/template.css
