November 20, 2012 at 4:48 pm #182424I made the mistake this evening to upgrade my site using the JA Extensions Manage tool, with the result that my site went haywire. I’ve since been able to fix most of the problems by one-by-one rolling back the upgrades, but I still can’t get the Mega Menu to work. The submenu points are not displayed when moving the mouse on top of the menu main points with the submenu options. This makes the site pretty much unusable and me VERY UNHAPPY. >:(

November 20, 2012 at 5:35 pm #473664On future investigation it turns out that the problem goes away if I turn off Javascript optimisation in the JA Nex template. This wasn’t a problem before, so I must assume one of the upgrades I did earlier tonight is playing havoc with Javascript. I found other areas of the site to be affected as well, for example in Kunena, I can no longer upload new avatars if JS optimisation is turned in the template. Obviously, turning of JS optimisation is only a work around not a solution. Please advise how to rectify the conflict so that I can use the JS optimisation again.

November 26, 2012 at 8:27 am #474224Hi Andrew again,
Did you try to upgrade to the latest version of JAT3 framework plugin? As I can see in your backend, its version is 2.5.0.
And let me know what’s going on.
Regards.

November 26, 2012 at 11:32 am #474243As mentioned in my initial post, upgrading all JA extensions to the latest version was what started the problems in the first place. I had to – one-by-one – reverse the upgrades until the site was operational again.

November 27, 2012 at 3:29 am #474327As I can see, the menu works now with current version. Do you still want to upgrade to the latest version of JAT3 plugin? If so, please update it and I shall help you if the problem occurs again.

November 28, 2012 at 2:26 am #474474The night before, I tried for the second time to upgrade the JA extensions including the JA Nex template with the same result: total havock. Once I rolled back to the original versions, everything was fine again, except that I still cannot tell the template compression to join the Javascripts, because the mega menus stop working when I do. Since the site attracts quite a bit of traffic, I’ve decided not to worry about Javascript compression until the Joomla 3.0 template comes out.
