Hello,

we are tired, we are angry… we find bugs after each update !

This time, we can not select sub-categories in the settings “Select Categories” when “Group By Sub Category” is set to yes.
(Joomla 1.7 – JA News Pro! Module)
See screenshot for more understanding !

So we made a change and of course we can’t come back (we don’t want to put a full backup because a bug of your update)

So how to fix this ?

Thank in advance.

Hi dieudonne!

When you chose “Group By Sub Category” = “Yes” it’s can chose only parent category 🙂

If you want chose childrent category, you chose “Group By Sub Category” = “No” 🙂

Thanks 🙂

See screenshot.

Before the update we can select a sub-category and display the sub-sub-category, but now it is impossible !!!
What’s happen ? What’s wrong ???

Hi Dieudonne and Barentsforlag!

A temporary solution, go to adminitrator->modules new pro, then clone profile as name “fix-3colonnes”. Then go to ftp of site, find file “mod_janewspro.php” with path “/modules/mod_janewspro”.
go to line 81 insert code
if ($params->get(‘profile’, ‘default’) == ‘fix-3colonnes’) {

$helper->set(‘groupbysubcat’, 1);
}
With dieudonne, you can view modules “JA News-Séjour et regroupement familial” 🙂
Thanks you 🙂

Hello,

thank but we have 8 profiles ! and 14 JA News Pro modules…
So we don’t want to duplicate all profiles. It’ll be a mess.

So how many times before the update ??
I think this is urgent, and this bug must be fix quickly !!

And after the update, do we remove the change at the line 81 ??

Thank in advance for your help.

Hi dieudonne!

I did created uregent bug and assign to team css but I don’t know how long they will update it:(

After update, or now, you remove
if ($params->get(‘profile’, ‘default’) == ‘fix-3colonnes’) {

$helper->set(‘groupbysubcat’, 1);
}
in file “mod_janewspro.php” with path “/modules/mod_janewspro”.

Thanks 🙂

Hello, can we have some news about the update ?

We don’t know how joomlart manages and tests these updates, but we think (with JA Teline IV) it’s a real mess…

Thank.

Hi dieudonne!

Because i haven’t permission changed css file of template 🙁

With the case of you, when i test, I haven’t find the best solution 🙁

Now, you can try, with “Theme Selection” = “default”, i fixed “Group By Sub Category” = “Yes” whether you choose it’s “No” and it’s running normal.

You can using it’s when await modules update 🙂

Thanks 🙂
