I’ve just install the Portfolio template. Before, I had done a quickstart with Ja Orio.
Now I have a poblme with the alignement of the left and the right column.
I don’t have made any modification on css. (just disable modules and add some component).
    Help needed !

Did you use the quickstart installation method with this template as well?

    No.
After the first quickstart, I made updates of joomla and some installation of component (akeeba, flexicontent) and I just installed the template from the file : ja_portfolio_real_estate.v1.2.1.zip.

Well, if such is an option, might I suggest wiping the slate clean and re-installing your JA Portfolio template utilizing the quickstart installation process? Personally, I have found this to be a relatively foolproof method for getting things started – rather than trying to re-invent the wheel.

Ok. I’ll lose 1 hour to reinstall the site. That’s not such a problem because it’s empty but that’s not a great solution. Perhaps there’s something to see in file.
    Thx anyway for ansxering quickly.

Shouldn’t take you an hour – though I suppose it depends on the speed of your computer and internet connection.

Just in case, here is a STEP-BY-STEP TUTORIAL[/url] for performing a quickstart installation.

I have the same problem. I use ja_portfolio since one year. A few days ago, i migrated my website from joomla 1.5.23 to 1.7.3 with jupgrade. after that i reinstalled ja_portfolio and the used modules and plugins. But the modules with position left or right will be placed below my content-mass-top. Thank you!

Can you provide a screenshot of the issue you are experiencing?

Please have a look at http://www.amsterdamer-kroepfer.de/jupgrade. On the hompage there you can see, that the module Web-Links and Interne Links are in a wrong position.

Before migration joomla from 1.5.23 to 1.7.3 i used http://www.amsterdamer-kroepfer.de. Here are all modules on the homepage in an correct position!

I found about 5 threads from over users with the same problem, but no solution.

    Thanks for your help!

Well, one solution that seems to have worked for many has been to re-install their template utilizing the quickstart + sample data installation process, and then working backwards from there (rather than trying to re-invent the wheel, per se).

You mentioned that you ‘re-installed ja-portfolio.” Did you do so utilizing the quickstart installation process?

Okay, just so I understand . . . . your site works fine (as you want it to) on your XAMP 1.7.1 – correct?

and you just want to know how to successfully migrate it onto your online web server account – correct?

no, thats not correct. The problem is local with XAMP 1.71.1 and also online.

    Okay . . . so taking this one step-question at a time . . .

    1. How long ago did you “re-install” ja-portfolio?

    2. When you re-installed, did you start form scratch (i.e. fresh install)?

i used ja_portfolio with joomla 1.5.x for about more than 1 year. a few days ago i backup up my website amsterdamer-kroepfer.de with akeeba backup. Then i installed xamp 1.7.1 local on my computer and restored there my website. Everything works fine.

Then i deinstalled components, modules and plugins. I also deinstalled ja_portfolio.

after that i installed jupgrade and made an update from my local website to joomla 1.7.3. after that i installed ja_portfolio for joomla 1.7. And i installed the necessary components, modules and plugins for ja_portfolio.
