    Hi guys.
    i am using the main menu with type “dropline menu” and the plugin (Content- PDF-Embed, Link: http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/external-contents/documents/5327). the plugin uses the adobe reader plugin

    when i just click on the menu and would like to open the last menu item
    the pdf-plugin overlay this.

    look at the attachment.
    the red line demonstrate the whole area of the first menu item.

    the problem is only in internet explorer 8 (7?).
    in firefox 3.5 there is no problem.

    changing the z-index in the css-files and <embed>-object brings no solution.

    Dear dankumc!

    Here is the solution for you:
    <blockquote>Editing HTML code manually

    To edit an existing HTML page, add the WMODE parameters to the HTML code.

    1. Add the following parameter to the OBJECT tag:

    <param name=”wmode” value=”transparent”>

    2. Add the following parameter to the EMBED tag:

    wmode=”transparent”

    </blockquote>

    hi. i tested this – but no change. that works only for flash-files. no pdf-files. ok!?

    the question of your link should be: How to make a pdf-file not with a transparent background but without overlaying menus.

    an alternative is the ajax document viewer (http://www.ajaxdocumentviewer.com/).
    this a server component. i dislike it.

    any other ideas? the z-index (from lower to higher numbers) was not the solution.

    Dear dankumc!

    Pls give me the link to your site, the z-index fixing is not solution for this.

    The best solution for the problem is the open source project flexpaper.
    It is a flashbased document-viewer. you just have to generate the pdf-file to swf.
