    Hi impy
    I think that you should use margin

    Yes, thank you, but where is the margin that is pushing it down – I can’t find it?

    I thought maybe adjusting the height setting would fix it but alas that only pushes the graphic down.

    do you have K2 installed?

    I’m going to say no – since I don’t know what it is and can’t find any reference to it in the files I downloaded from joomlart. I tried to search it on here but k2 is too short of a term. I did remember seeing a thread with k2 on it (was it here?) but I didn’t investigate it further because my fix was just to make an adjustment in the css file.

    It looks like you are having “Wrap” issues. they are all going to the top of your masshead. I had to install K2 like the demo had in order for mine to format correctly.

    Ok, I took a quick scan at the K2 website – it’s another extension for Joomla that replaces the generic module to generate articles? I can try that – but I’m not making a connection on how this is going to get my masshead to meet the bottom of the menu? Wouldn’t that have more to do with margins and module placements?

    Well, I installed the K2 – wow – did that make things look worse. The masshead graphic dropped even further behind the body and the menus above became inoperable. Did I miss something? For what it’s worth the media manager looked like it has possibilities. I disabled all the K2 stuff and at least I’m back to the the 1/2 inch gap. I don’t know if I can take learning yet another module/component/extension – here – surely the only thing I need to do is adjust a margin and not install an entire another package of code? Why would the designer of JA Kranos give us this template without including the K2 package if that is what is needed to make things work right?

    Actually Kranos was designed to work with K2.

    It is most likely a jquery problem. Turn it off in K2 and see what happens.

    I hear ya. I didn;t want to use K2 either but I liked the template and actually didn;t use the Masshead at all I used the slideshow for quite awhile. Finally I went back to it and got it fixed (masshead) by installing teh K2. I had all kinds of jquery problems and my site was messed up as well. Turning off the jquery in K2 fixed it for me and fixed the formating issues with the masshead.

    Sigh, all right…I’ll try again – but can you throw me a bone here? Where do I turn off the jquery? (which menu or folder) and is there any other configuration I will need to do before all the menus and images fall into the right places?

    Actually I told you wrong, I have jquery turned on. I must have turned it off on another component.

    Anyway to find it go to K2/items. on that page one of the top menu items is parameters. click that and you will get a lightbox menu and the jquery and other options are in there.

    Thanks, I did find it. I disabled it – and unfortunately my Megamenu doesn’t work. I’m going to disable it again for the night because I need to work on something else and I don’t want my friend floundering around wondering what happened to her menu. I think she’d rather have the gaping margin at the top. Sigh…

    Hi Impy2101
    Please add code below to end of file templates/ja_kranos/css/template.css

    #ja-masshead .mask-bottom {
    background: url("../images/bg-mask.png") repeat-x scroll 0 100% transparent;
    bottom: 0;
    height: 300px;
    left: 0;
    position: absolute;
    width: 100%;
    z-index: 1;
    }
    .mask-bottom {
    background-image: url("../images/bg-mask.png") !important;
    }
    #ja-masshead .mask-left {
    background: url("../images/bg-mask-left.png") repeat-y scroll left top transparent;
    height: 100%;
    left: 0;
    position: absolute;
    top: 0;
    width: 114px;
    z-index: 1;
    }
    .mask-left {
    background-image: url("../images/bg-mask-left.png") !important;
    }

    #ja-masshead .mask-right {
    background: url("../images/bg-mask-right.png") repeat-y scroll right top transparent;
    height: 100%;
    position: absolute;
    right: 0;
    top: 0;
    width: 114px;
    z-index: 1;
    }

    .mask-right {
    background-image: url("../images/bg-mask-right.png") !important;
    }

    Hope that can help you

    Wow! Va Va Voom!!!! That did it! Thank you so much, you are truly my HeRO. I did not know you had responded to this or I would have tried this sooner! One last question, though? Can I alter the code to move back the shadowing around my masthead? Its covering up too much…:-))
