Hello everyone,
i will like to know if it is possible to have another menu for Iphone layout than Mainnav.
i mean for desktop version we can have mainnav but for iphone layout we can have another menu, i am using the ja purity II for a website everything is fine also Ja purity II works well, but i have Jcal pro installed and by default it is set to month view, which in iphone view do not look right, i wanted to have flat view for iphone, my idea is to have mainnav for desktop view set to montly view but to create another menu in parallel for iphone and where the link to jcalpro will be set to flat view.
help please
thanksSaguaros ModeratorSaguaros

February 21, 2011 at 4:22 am #377643Hello mate!
Presently the Menu is part of the template. You try adding a new position for adding the new menu
Open the file: templatesja_purity_iilayoutsiphone.php, and try following to this guide to know how to add new positions for the template http://wiki.joomlart.com/wiki/JA_Template_Framework/Guides
March 11, 2011 at 3:33 pm #380934Hey mate
You sorted this out in the end?
i am desperate to do this asap for exactly same reasons
have a booking calendar that stretches off to the right and in mobile view cant see thatalso jomsocial with modules on right page — the right half of the rightside modules dont show and in mobile view i cant drag to the right
any help much appreciated
Yes we could make a new position and assign a menu to that position and make sure that position isnt in the default template
however we’d lose the iphone style menu and end up with a normal one
unless we edit the line in the next post of mine i think…March 11, 2011 at 3:39 pm #380935with my terrible coding knowledge im probably wrong
but notice in the file mainnav.php (in templatename/layouts/blocks/iphone/
there is a line
<?php if (($jamenu = $this->loadMenu())) $jamenu->genMenu (); ?>which i think is saying use the menu that is setup as the main menu in the main template params, for the iphone menu
now if im right
if there was simply a 2nd setting there, to specify an iphone menu then it would work?
(think i saw it on a comepititor template maker system running gantry)On the other hand i have no idea what that code does
other than in same folder
is another file
menu.phpand in there some weird menu with artists names in it
