    Hello folks,
I have spent hours hunting up down and sideways on this issue.

I am running J1.0.12 + Antares + transmenu (in a vertical space to left of where the mod_ja_header would be if it were published).
** mod_ja_header is loaded but currently unpublished.
    ** Joomla mainmenu is unpublished.

I simply do not like the width of the inconsistent child menus of transmenu… Nor does my client.
That is to say, I would like to able to preset the children to say, 140px.

Suckerfish has consistant widths… but has the problem of offsets of child menus.

I cannot find the appropriate places to modify code/config’s for EITHER issue…. Though we would prefer to use transmenu as a more professional look (– IF we can get this width issue sorted out).

If anyone can shed any light on this, it would make an otherwise very dull day a lot brighter (for me; and quite possibly, the WHOLE world)… 😎

To add to the confusion over the transmenu “separate module extension” and Antares, I notice that Antares loads the [ja-transmenuh.css] – Please note the ‘H’ = horizontal; which is not really a part of the standard Antares setup.

Having tried just about everything from JS hacks to going and having a beer at the pub, I am (almost) ready to give up and accept >:( inconsistant menu widths.

    Cheers,
    Chris(tophe)r

PS. My client would prefer I do not publish the site address at this time… but if I must, I will.

The problem here is that Transmenu is written to grab the length of the text for the menu item and then add padding to it. It wasn’t created to use a “set width”. I’m sure this can be done, it’s just a matter of figuring out where in the script it calculates the width and the variable could be hacked at that point. I will see if I can find some time this weekend to take a look but I have a full schedule so no promises.

With any luck, someone from JA that knows the code much better than I do will jump in and point out that location before I can get to this. 😀
