October 22, 2010 at 4:39 pm #155579I am wondering if anybody at JoomlArt has created a module that would work like JA Tabs except that it would display content from multiple modules without using tabs. I have an example of what I would like to accomplish at http://test.shalomadventure.com
For the time being I have a ‘mock-up’ of what I would like to accomplish.
I would like to have a Module called Daily Gems (now called Daily Gems Raxo Block Name Test)
Inside that module I would like to be able to call out a position for other modules to be assigned to and the display within the Daily Gems module. This is how JA Tabs works! In this example I have Daily Scripture, Daily Quote and Daily Fact.
I want to have articles coming from three different categories but I only want to display one article per day for each category. There are other modules out there that I can use for this functionality. But the trick is figuring out how to have a module, like JA Tabs, that creates the position for the other modules to be displayed within. Basically it would be a simplified JA Tabs with No Tabs.
I would also like to then have that ‘parent’ module have a darker thicker border to match some of the gray color in the banner navigation. So, I would need love it if there was some CSS options that would allow the new ‘parent’ module to have a border different from the standard JA Teline III css.
Do you guys have something like this in your modules extensions service? So far I have subscribed to the templates but not the extensions so maybe this would be a good time for an upsell? 🙂
Thank you, Sean Carney

October 22, 2010 at 5:36 pm #360141Hi Sean,
Unfortunately, we do not have anything close to get it done. At JoomlArt the extension development is focused more on the template extensions (compimentary with templates), however, the development of these extension is done carefully, so that the same extension can be used in multiple templates, while retaining the same codes.
For example, JA Tabs module is used in 30 templates, with different style in each template but still retaining the same code across. You can check it HERE << click on + sign on extreme right side.
It would not be possible to customize the tabs module to your requirement, as it would break all the 30 templates.
Not intended to discourage you, you can wait for other members reply on tips or try http://www.joomlancers.com for quotes, i am sure you would be able to find good developers with experience in JA products.
Regards
Arvind

JA Tabs is very well done.
We would like something like JA Aggregator to create lists of articles, etc… basically the same thing as JA tabs. It would display more then one module one on top of the other instead of with tabs. That may be too difficult and without enough interest but it seems like a good idea to me and something I would certainly use right now.
