Are there any server settings or joomla settings that could affect the functionality of the ja-news and ja-newsflash modules?
Neither one is working as they should, meaning they aren’t scrolling through the content. This seems to be a ‘settings’ issue rather than there being something wrong with the module ‘code’. But I don’t know that for sure.
Anyone else have this problem? If so, how did you overcome it?
June 20, 2007 at 11:19 pm #222486Changing the folder permission to 755 and the files to 644 cleared the problem for me. It was working fine in both Firefox and IE yesterday.
But today the text for the 2nd and succeeding headlines are showing all blurry in Internet Explorer. *sigh*
Has this module always been this unwieldy? I mean, it’s either supposed to work or not. All of this sometimes-working-right / sometimes-not is a little frustrating.
June 20, 2007 at 11:20 pm #222487I also would like to know how to set up the “Top Tracks” + “Hottest Billboards” section. Please. Anyone.
EDIT: Yeah, it’s in the user guide. I don’t know why, but I kept reading past that part. Anyway, from someone else looking for the answer, you can do it like this
I like to create a new modules anyway. 😀
Modules -> Site modules -> “New”
Next to “Module class suffix” put in : -hilite2
Now use the following code to show as many or as few as you like:
<p class=”blocknumber”><span class=”bignumber”>01.</span>Your content</p>
<p class=”blocknumber”><span class=”bignumber”>02.</span>Your content</p>
<p class=”blocknumber”><span class=”bignumber”>03.</span>Your content</p>Then save it.

Glad to see you made the effort to answer your own questions by reading up on the guide, a bit of trial and error 😉 wish a few more would try, would make things a lot easier on support

June 21, 2007 at 12:20 pm #222519Yeah, usually stuff can get complex in the JA world. In other words, configuring and setting up things are not always out of the box and just ready to go. Sometimes it requires some Joomla basic knowledge and sometimes it requires even a bit more than the absolute basics. Usually most of it is also documented so there are ways of finding the information for those who seek. 🙂
Glad you sorted it!!
