February 1, 2010 at 10:24 pm #148293Hello,
I was reading more about the iPad (and before that the iPhone/iPod Touch) policy not to support Flash.
[N.B. I read the argument about Flash being almost universal. Or that Flash applications are memory hogs and trigger crashes. . The inquiry does not really cast any perspective about whether Flash is useful or not in relation to webdesign and presentation. I am not also asking whether one likes or doesn’t like Apple products. These are irrelevant with respect to the nature of this inquiry]
The focus of the inquiry is more on whether there is any extension in any of the Joomla/Joomlart templates (especially the Teline series) that use Flash?
If there is any, can you please identify them?
Thanks.
Cornelio

Unfortunately, there is no Joomlart templates use Flash. However, if you want to enable flash, you can embed those into the content, eg. you can add one custom module which is integrated with flash so that your template can have flash as you want without any flash module

Thanks JA Developer,
Actually, I prefer templates that do not use Flash (i.e., Flash-free). So, I hope you keep JA templates that way (i.e., no Flash). This will make the JA templates websites compatible with the mobile devices of Apple — iPhone, iPod touch and iPad that use the IPhone OS. Because these Apple products are becoming popular, many (not all) big commercial sites have started creating alternatives to Flash (e.g., html5 scripting) for their videos). I read that You Tube videos used Flash but Google provided alternative versions so that they are compatible with the iPhone OS.
I have Mac computer, and most sites that have Flash usually are very slow or may even freeze my old computer. From what I read, the Adobe Flash for Mac script supposedly is not well written, or do not have all the features like the Windows version of Flash.

February 11, 2010 at 9:06 am #332356I think there is not necessary to use flash in JA templates at all. Most of useful flash effects we can make with DHTML. Flash is hard to customisation so it should’nt be use with template club in my opinion where easy customization possibilty is really important thing.
