Hi-
I’ve looked through the threads but I don’t see any discussion on this. I would like my articles to have the same format as the demo. Not the front page or the section front pages, the actual article pages. I want the main section front pages to be 3 col, which they are and the article pages to be 2 col which they are not.
article on left, right column. Like this:
http://template15.joomlart.com/ja_sulfur/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=49:curabitur-convallis&catid=35:demo-category&Itemid=54But I would like to keep my 3 column layouts on the main pages of the sections:
Keep this: http://www.islandspot.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=section&layout=blog&id=11&Itemid=70
This is an article detail page.
Do I need to change the css and if so where and to what?
Thanks

September 18, 2009 at 5:00 pm #317779This is done by menu assignment. Create a link(menu item) to your article and then set all modules that are in the left column not to display on for that menu item.
September 18, 2009 at 6:38 pm #317787That seems like a lot of work to do everytime I publish an article, not to mention, my menu assignmant list would get out oh hand pretty quickly. Isn’t there a way to set a default sub (article) section? Maybe through modifying a php file?

September 18, 2009 at 7:45 pm #317790You could write a conditional statement into the index.php that if &view=article then don’t display a particular column but the whole point of Joomla is that you can assign various modules to various pages. Are you sure you want to completely disable a column for ALL articles?
September 18, 2009 at 10:22 pm #317808Yes. I would just like the right column to stay and have the article on the left. Otherwise it is just too tight and cluttered.
