Well, the customised Wall site has gone live, http://www.praguepost.com, and its looking good so far. Will need to upgrade server plans to handle the traffic better, but so far, so good… except one thing:

I added an article “Czech Liga Scores” to the Sports category, and DID NOT select “featured”. Yet somehow, the article is showing up in the front page view. My understanding is that featured view is required for an article to be on the front page blog… so why is this happening??

Another curious thing, I set the article to not show published date, category or hits or author, yet it does. Does menu override individual article settings?? (Cache has been cleared by the way).

A quick answer will get you generations of thanks!

    Hello Jeff,

My understanding is that featured view is required for an article to be on the front page blog

It will depend on the type of Home menu item, in JA Wall template, the Home menu item has type of Category Blog, so articles of selected category will be displayed in front page.

Does menu override individual article settings?

Yes. The settings in menu will take precedence over the one in individual article. You should change in article option in settings of its menu item.

I guess that’s one thing I gotta live with, but would be great if there was a way to keep an article off the front page….

    thanks for the great help!
