I have just upgraded from University T3 to Teline V. I have huge problems with getting the Special page: Blank Content menu item to work.

First I tried with version 1.0.3, but that didn’t give me a category to choose from when I created the Special page: Blank Content menu item (http://therebel.is/en/news).

One of your staff told me it was a bug with version 1.0.3 and to downgrade to version 1.0.2 which I did. I could then select the “English News” Joomla Content category and save the menu item.

I then created and published an ACM module called [Magazine – Home – English] Featured News: style-1 in position news-home. When I then opened the http://therebel.is/en/news page, my site timed out.

I then created and pubished the Category Listing and Video ACM modules instead, one by one, but that had the same 504 gateway timeout error effect.

I then published the old JA News Featured Pro and JA News Pro modules in the news-home position instead, but that had exactly the same result.

I tried the same thing again on the German side of my site (http://therebel.is/de/news). There I got at least the [Magazine – Home – German] Featured News: style-1 module to work, well, kind of. It didn’t show any pictures.

Then I published the old JA News Featured and JA News Pro on the German side in news-home position. They displayed perfectly, exactly like before, only slower than previously with the University T3 template.

As a test I copied the “working” Special page: Blank Content menu item from the German menu to the English menu and just changed the associated category from German to English News. It didn’t work either, but behave exactly like the existing News link.

What’s strange about all of this is that the site is generally faster with Teline V than previously with University T3.

On a side issue, the ‘Trending Topics’ ACM module in header-1 position doesn’t work either. It just shows blanks. I’ve posted that in a separate ticket, but haven’t made any progress on that problem as yet. I suspect both problems are related.

    Hi @andrewwinkler,

I checked your site using Firefox but see several JS conflict errors there, please check attachment screenshot for more detail.

I fixed the errors mentioned in the Developer Console, but the JA ACM based Article – Special page: Blank Content still causes timeout errors respectively doesn’t display anything at all.

As a work around, I’ve created a second ‘News’ item on my top menu that opens the normal Joomla Article Blog Layout for the “English News” category and its subcategories. Then I have linked the old JA News Featured and JA News Pro module to that menu item in position “Home 1”. This is working fine, except for the fact that the “Home” layout in JA Teline V does NOT suppress the main content block which is obviously less than ideal.

Then I’ve made the JA ACM based Article – Special page: Blank Content version of the News menu item invisible by giving access to only my own Joomla user account and yours. That way you can still work on it and try make it work. I’ve renamed that menu item from “News” to “JA ACM”.

Please note that this “JA ACM” test version of the news page only exists on the English top menu. I presume that once you got it to work on the English side, it will also work on the German.

    Hi @andrewwinkler,

In your admin >>> Extensions >>> Template Manager >>> you have 2 template styles ja_teline_v – Home – English and ja_teline_v – Default – English.

The template style ja_teline_v – Home – English doesn’t has component part which mean it won’t show article, just module only, so for the page you want to display article, just assign appropriate menu item with template style ja_teline_v – Default – English instead.

It’s all good. I got it to work yesterday and forgot to update the ticket. I think the problem was that I had not defined the ‘news-home’ position for the ACM modules to be linked to.
