I have a question about how to display the date of an article nicely.
On the demo site it looks very nice. The date is displayed to the left of the article.
http://www.joomlart.com/demo/#joomla17-templates.joomlart.com/ja_blazes
For instance, Sep 6 for the first article. On my own site:
http://neven-jansen.be/blog/index.php/frank
The date is ‘hidden’ as text.I examined the live demo on the joomlart website for the Blazes theme (got a login), but I am clueless as
where to start looking. Can you give me a pointer to where I should look for this configuration? Or do I have to dig in CSS files?
Thanks for your help!TomC ModeratorTomC

October 11, 2011 at 11:31 pm #418553Hey There:
The first question I usually ask when I see someone who wants an element of their site to resemble the demo is . . .When you installed your JA Blazes template, did you do so utilizing the quickstart installation process, including installing the sample data?
October 12, 2011 at 11:45 am #418722I installed the quickstart template with sample data (http://fxnx.be/inst/). But since my site already has some content I do not want to simply modify that installation. I would like to use the quickstart template to learn about its configuration. When seeing the difference in how the date (for an article) is displayed in the quickstart template and the clean installation of the template (http://neven-jansen.be/blog/index.php/frank), I was assuming there to be an option in the templates configuration. I can not seem to locate this option. Maybe I am too naive and have to dive into the CSS files. If so, a pointer to which one is much appreciated.
I am quite a beginner.Frank
October 14, 2011 at 7:13 pm #419398I found the answer. The layout of the blog is governed by the Page Class attribute of the menu item pointing to the category blog. When I enter “ja-blazes-blog” there, everything looks just like the online demo. Installing the quickstart template indeed payed off in the end.

October 28, 2011 at 2:47 am #422051I am having the same issue and tried all that was suggested above, but without it working. I did install the quick start also by the way. What I am specifically having a issue with is the date not appearing on the left hand side, and even more specifically with that great image bg-date.png. Currently the date is not showing and the blog entry is to the far left hand side leaving too much room on the right. Any suggestions?
Also I am using Joomla 1.7
October 28, 2011 at 8:14 pm #422218Hi Erin,
For some reasone I have to enter ” ja-blazes-blog” with a leading ” ” (space). If you forget the space, it does not work.
I hope this helps. I am a newbie myself.
FrankNovember 23, 2011 at 6:43 am #426016Similar problem. Category Blog layout shows blank content. I tried adding ja-blazes-blog with and without the spaces. Nothing shows up. Works on other templates just fine. Thoughts?

Can you provide the url of the site you’re working on – along with a link to the page at issue? -
