    What gives with the Article Category Module?

    What can I do to get these things to line up? Is there some sort of trick to it? It is driving me nutty. I’ve done everything according to the quickstart – including changing out the actual items for my text and icons. One minute it will look fine, then I’ll make an adjustment and it pops out of line.

    Please advise.

    Since it is a css fix, please post the site to a development server and provide the Url. we can’t check until it is in your localhost.

    I’ve actually got it working the way it should be on a remote host at jonessign.io. It seems pretty precarious and I don’t have much confidence in it staying in a nice, 3 items per row times 4 rows pattern.

    I can break the layout as in the picture on the remote host if that suits your needs.

    I suppose I’d also like some clue how to stagger all the items as they appear, too. It seems as though it is only being done with the first 5 items. I’m loathe to play around in the .php files without some direction.

    Go to this File: /templates/ja_sugite/css/themes/blue/template.css

    Add this code

    #Mod141 .ja-animate {
    min-height: 610px;

    }

    Nothing doing with the fix. It actually shows up broken in the tablet landscape mode, too.

    Just in case, I thought I’d do a clean install and double up the articles in the category so the fresh install would accommodate 12 items and see if the fix worked there and the layout still broke down to having less than 3 in a given row. Here is the picture of this.

    You can see this at play at the website’s live site – jonessign.io – I’ll pm you superuser credentials.

    I’d love to know what error I am making so the layout shifts in this manner. I’m out of possibilities at the moment and it is a bit vexing, to be honest. I wish I could make it work the way it should. All advice is appreciated.

    I was able to stop the layout from going funky by these methods.

    Copying and then pasting the text from my first article to the subsequent 11 articles that I wanted showing. This exactly:

    <p>Site Surveys as part of Program Management from Jones Sign Company.</p>
    <hr id="system-readmore" />

    And also,

    Resizing each of the images that accompanied these articles to exactly 100 pixels by 100 pixels.

    I don’t know if I just got lucky and it is a hack – job, or it works because of the same characters and image size in each item. If everything is supposed to be the same, please do place those instructions very clearly in your userguide for JA Sugite. I cannot imagine this is truly the case, but I was pretty elated to have found a solution to the issue that worked.

    I’ll let you know whether the layout goes back to breaking when I customize the text. I am going to wait a few days on that as I am emotionally fragile and fear I’d become despondent in the case where I would break the layout once more.

    but do this css to fix the home page layout

    Add this code to this file: /templates/ja_sugite/css/custom.css

    .category-module-grid .article-content {
    min-height: 250px;

    }

    Hi @nickmortensen,
    I took a look at your site and the articles weren’t paginating correctly for me. I’m developing the same portion of my website so I’ll share some discoveries of mine. First, make sure all the images are the same dimensions. The easiest way to achieve this is to take the width and height dimensions from your largest image and apply them to all. Second, display articles in a multiple of 3’s. The custom template (3-column) that is in use does not automatically center 2 or 1 articles to fill the entire div row. Instead, it leaves empty div containers. The JA Sugite template is not as responsive as magic unfortunately 😉

    Hope this helped!

    BTW, your icon designs are nice!

    @yangyangli

    Do you have any issues on yours ?

    Nope, all good. I do have a few image resizing problems though that I’m tackling in another thread.
