Hello!

I haven´t downloaded the quickstart and now I wonder how to manage to show featured articles in content, just as Mendozite has. Take a look at my enclosed picture and you will understand what I´m asking about. I have tried to use Slide News but that is only possible to show in modules as I understand it.

Thank you for your quick answer! I have done what you said but now I see a list of the featured articles and info about that they are written by me and how many hits every article has.

I want the beginning of the article to show, a photo from the article and a read more-link, Just as on my previious photo.

I think you can solve in a better way for this and other configurations of your website

go to the Joomlart template page click on the demo builder button on the left and build a quickstart installation

In this way you can verify all settings as in the demo site of the template and replicate it in your website

Of course that would be the easiest choice. The problem is that I am working on an already existing webpage and don´t want to install too many new items that I might not need.

You don’t need to install nothing – the demo builder works on Joomlart server

I have never usel the demo server and don’t know how it works. I have worked with joomla for several years, but must admit I often feel like a newbie. Joomlart is sometimes complicated and there are no good instructions/manuals for us who don’t cope with everything. It feels like everyone takes it for granted that you are a trained web designer. I would like instructions that leads you from the start… 🙂

Thanks Ninja Lead for your answer! I now know exactly how to do everything with featured articles. The trouble is that it coesn´t look the same in my version. When I try to add photos to the article I don´t have the option that is called “images and links”.

As I said before I work on an already existing site and have no possibility to install the quickstart. But I have installed it on another, blank, domain so I can compare. By such a comparison I have noticed the difference.

Is it some kind of plugin or component that I am missing?

On my enclosed pictures you can see what I mean.

Hi

You can enable that feature editing the options for your articles

Goto Article Manager >> Click on the top right icons menu Options >>Click on editing layout Tab >> enable the Administrator images and Links

Is there somewhere where I can decide how many articles that can be shown on “Home”. Not it shows five, then a link to another ppage appears. I would like to have an indefinite number of articles. Or at least more then five.

Again I found the answer myself… Sorry for being so quick on writing a question. You make the change on Menu-Home.
