OK, nearly there:
1. Articles now going where they should
2. Grey ‘stuff’ removed from top of page
3. Double column layout is back! So, we only need to figure out whey the text is appearing underneath the image, and not alongside it, and I’m just about there.
Nothing in the article code looks like it should cause this problem:
So, if we can just crack that one, I’m done!
Thanks
Chris</blockquote>Hi,
I see that you have the intro articles horizontal now.
How did you get that?
have read your posts here too, I got the big gray box away too, but still they are vertical beneath each other and not beside one of another like your screenshot here…So how did you fix that?
Thank you in advance…

June 30, 2008 at 2:51 pm #257253Ah, this looks like a problem I had earlier.
Please try to publish a ‘3rd’ new article into the section and see what happens?
When I try this (along with Ana’s advice above re JAZin plugin update), then everything came good. I think you will need a 3rd article to test this!
Good luck

It’s just that we sometimes have right aligned images in articles.

Day Four. Problem still exists
So, here we are, four days later and still my 10th section will not work correctly. To recap where we are now:
Site has 10 sections. 9 sections work perfectly, as per ‘demo’ site. 1 section does not. I have deleted and recreated the ’10th’ section three times, same problem every time.
Articles published in the first 9 sections I created look like this:
Same article published in my 10th section looks like this:
So, we know this problem can not be ‘article’ related, it’s something attached to the Section/Categories. Trouble is, there is no evident code in the creation/modification of sections or categories that would ‘force’ articles to appear like this.
Please, has anybody got any ideas?
I have e-mailed JoomlArt customer support yesterday, but no response :((
If no solution to this problem is found within the next 24 hours then I will have to throw in the towel with Teline II and move on…
Thanks

Yeah, I think so. It’s now over 6 hours since I sent SuperAdmin passwords to JA Mods. They have been in the site, but so far no fix.
I can only think this is a bug in the code.
As I said, if this is not fixed by 24.00 (CET) tonight, then I will stop all the work I’ve done with Teline II and switch templates. My site is now late for launch and I can’t demo to clients, so I have no choice but to go with a template that works.

July 2, 2008 at 4:29 am #257483Day Five … problem still not solved
<em>@nguoiabcd 63561 wrote:</em><blockquote>I’m checking your problem, maybe that is bug and i’m debugging. Please wait</blockquote>
It’s now 24 hours since JA took a look at the site and code and still no bug fix!
So, if this is something that JA can’t fix … it’s certainly something I can’t fix, therefore, I can no longer continue with JA Teline II. Five days is too much time to waste on something like this.
You would not believe how angry this makes me having created all the sections, categories, banners and around 35 articles … plus of course, I paid my ‘1 year’ money rather than my ‘3 month’ money as I believed I would receive full support during that period.
:((
Ah well, time to go find a magazine template that works.
Thanks to all who helped me get as far as I did with the template … I hope you people carry on the fight and get the thing to work for your needs!

July 2, 2008 at 5:59 am #257508OH. And if it makes any difference to anybody at JA. This morning I decided to ‘sacrifice’ one of my existing sections in order to make this work and save some of the work we’ve done so far.
I took one of my sections and renamed it and renamed menu.
I took the one category that was in this existing section and renamed it … and the menu.
This works beautifully, just like it should … resizing the images, text wraparound, etc., etc. Just like it used to before I renamed it.
So, I then need another 3 categories. I copy the existing one, which works fine. I rename the 3 new categories and the menu.
What happens?
The one category that already existed from the original demo works fine. The three ‘copies’ of this category have exactly the same problem as the Section/Categories I’ve been trying to create for five days.
So, here’s how Section/Category1 looks:
And, here’s how Section/Categories2/3+4 look:
No company in the world can possibly work like this. :((
It seems if I ‘modify’ a category that was in the original demo … everything works fine. If I add a new one, or even copy one, it all goes very wrong.
What the hell kind of template is this? No support or feedback from JA, no help from the Developers and this appears to be a bug in their code … just great huh?

Just another day in paradise Chris
If you look at the images you have there, will it help to make them smaller in width? So the text have a chance to wrap around them?

I wish! The place I’m in at the moment may be hot but it’s not paradise … it’s the place with the guy in the red cape with the horns!
😉<em>@Menalto 63779 wrote:</em><blockquote>If you look at the images you have there, will it help to make them smaller in width? So the text have a chance to wrap around them?</blockquote>
Nope. Already tried that:
Also, I can take a story that works fine (no matter what size the images) in Category1 and copy this into Category2 and it doesn’t work (see images above)!
In Cat1, the images are resized as set up for the category and the text wraps around. In Cat2 (even though this is a copy of Cat1), the result is a mess, no image resize, no runaround on image.
To be honest, I’m getting really tired of the whole thing … maybe I’ll just continue with a printed product, at least I’m totally in control of that!!

July 2, 2008 at 7:53 am #257535Could I just say my absolute sincerest Thanks to Menalto … again! 😎
He just PM’d me some code to place into one of the CSS files.
Whilst this doesn’t fix the entire bug in the template (images not resizing, etc.), this has fixed my text runaround problem.
This means, by changing all my images in these categories 100 pixels x 100 pixels wide at least I now have a workaround to the bug!
Thanks to Menalto 😀
… no thanks whatsoever to the JA team :((
Don’t know why you guys continue solving their problems and doing their work without pay … you don’t seem to even get appropriate recognition for your help.
Still, I’m extremely grateful!! 😎
